Since you are from BCA graduation it is good you are thinking about pursuing higher studies. This will give you better career options. The duration is 3 years. The eligibility criteria include that the candidate should have pursued Maths in 12th standard. Also for most institutes the minimum marks in 12th standard should be 50%. Since you have more than that there should be no issues in you applying for the same. Most of the universities conduct their own entrance exam. Some of them include NIMCET, Delhi University, Anna University etc. You can check out with the university near you. Make sure that you start preparing for the entrance exam well in advance.

You are eligible on the basis of graduation BCA but if some university are demanding the 12th class percentage equal or more then 60 % then it will create a problem. You should also try to give the entrance exams. The main MCA entrance exams are NIMCET, IIT-JAM, JNU, VITMEE, IP etc.

Re: What is the eligibility for the MCA Entrance Exams with low percentage in 12th (10+2)?

    Dear friend.
MCA is a master's course. This course comprises of the study of the computer concepts like the hardware, software, networking, programming, infrastructure, computer architecture, logics, COBOL, java, C++ and C languages, etc..

There are a number of institutions providing this course both in regular and correspondence mode. Some of the top one's are:
    1. Birla Institute Of Technology and Science(BITS)
    2. National Institute of Technology(NIT) like Allahabad, calicut or trichy.
    3. Hyderabad university
    4. Bharatiar university
    5. Coimbatore university
    6. JNU Delhi
    7. DU, Delhi
    8. Pondicherry university

correspondence MCA is also provided by:
    1. IGNOU
    2. BRAOU
    3. SOL, Delhi

Generally for the admission into this course, the universities conduct their own entrance exams and that is why the percentage criteria varies.
But the minimum eligibility is that the candidate must have obtained a bachelor degree in any discipline with maths with atleast 60% marks from a central or recognised university.
So here your Bachelor degree marks are given importance rather than 12th marks.
Since you have got 72% !! So you are eligible for this course even with 53% in 12th.
    So just go for it.
You can even give the common entrance tests for this course like AIMCAT(all India MCA common Admission Test) or ICET or AUCET etc..

    : :GOOD LUCK: :

Can you please send me the list of entrance examination I am eligible for so that I can prepare for them? An early reply would be highly appreciative.

M.C.A stands for master of computer application . the duration of the course is for 3 years and the course is divided into 3 semester . there is good scope for mca course in both private as well as public sectors .

    QUALIFICATION OF MCA COURSE :

You should be qualified for bachelor degree in science stream { ie : physics , chemistry , biology and mathematics } and you belong from commerce stream your eligible to apply for mca course but you have mathematics subject in 12th then only your eligible for mca course . your belonging from sc/st candidate then the relaxation is given for 55% or 50% percentage of marks.

if you see , some institution can conduct entrance examination with the college , there can give admission according to the percentage of marks in entrance examination . You should also qualified in entrance examination like , B.I.T , I.C.E.T , V.I.T .
    • B.I.T stands for Birla Institute of Technology . it is an MCA and engineering entrance examination , it is conducted for the purpose for to get admission in mca college . if you want to take part in this entrance examination then you should be qualified in the bachelor degree in any stream with good percentage of marks .
    • I.C.E.T Integrated common entrance examination test . it is an MCA entrance examination conducted for the to get admission in top MCA colleges . if you want to participate in the entrance examination then you should be qualified in bachelor degree in any stream with good percentage of marks .
if you qualified this entrance examination then you will get admission in top MCA college .

So there is no doubt your eligible for mca course , you will apply for mca entrance examination ,and get good percentage of marks entrance examination , then definitely you will get admission in good college .

Re: What is the eligibility for the MCA Entrance Exams with low percentage in 12th (10+2)?

    HI FRIEND

yes,why not, you are eligible for MCA examinations with low % in 12th because % in 12th is not included in the eligiblity criteria ,your % in bca matters a lot.

MCA stands for master of computer applications.

--->it is a two year master degree program in computer applications.

    the required qualifications are:

--->you should do BCA or graduation from a recognised college.

--->your % in BCA should not be less than 50 because less % in bca will hinder admission in good colleges.

--->you must have mathematics as a compulsory subject in 10+2.

    hope the answer satisfies you.

    all the best.
