Re: What is the eligibility criteria for NET exam?

Post graduation is the minimum educational qualification is set by UGC, so you have to scored minimum 55% marks in your post graduation to apply for NET. This examination is conducted by UGC, twice in a year and you can apply "n" number of times. This examination is conducted for the Lectureship Post and Junior Research fellowship post. There is no upper age restrictions to apply for the lectureship post. But for the Junior Research fellowship Post your age should not be more than 28 years.

As per the new criteria only top 15% will be eligible for lectureship. So its is very tough again, so you need good preparation to cracked NET.

Well the examination is objective with no negative marking and there are total 3 papers in NET and you have to appear for all the papers. First paper is compulsory for all and next two paper is based on the subject you choose at the time of filling online application form. The merit of First paper will goes always high, so try to scored good marks in Paper-I. In another two paper passing marks is enough.

The syllabus and list of subjects is available in the official website of UGC, so you can easily download from the official website.

You have to fill the application form online only from the official website of UGC, you have to submit the application form fees through challan form in SBI Bank. You can easily download the challan form from the official website of UGC.

If your post graduation is complete and your marks is more than 55% then definitely you are eligible for NET.

The notification published 1 month before the exam date, the next examination will be conducted soon in June 2013. So wait for the Next notification and then apply online and for more details check official website.
