the eligibility criteria for Customs Services-----------------

1.A candidate should have graduation degree in any discipline
2.A candidate should be physically fit
3.A candidate should have atleast 50% in graduation
4.A candidate should be citizen of India
5.Age limit -21-30 years for open category
6.Age limit for SC/ST -21-35 years .

To become a Customs Officer you will have to take the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by UPSC which recruit candidates for 27 different services including the Indian Customs & Central Excise Services.

Bachelor’s degree in any stream obtained from a recognized university is the basic qualification required for appearing in CSE.

Also the candidate should be between 21 to 30 years of age.

Those selected for the Customs Service are trained in Chennai while training for the central Excise Service is done in one of the metropolitan cities.
