Re: WHAT IS THE ELIGIBLITY CRETIREA FOR IIM EXAM AND WHAT IS THE DATE OF APPLICATION TO THESE YEAR

You can go for this course only if you are Bachelorís degree. You should atleast have scored minimum 50% marks or more. Candidates are given admission on the basis of the applicantion received through the Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs). CAT is conducted around every November at various centers across india. Those who are indian national or those who are foreigners but a resident of India are eligible to attend CAT. Candidates are who attempt CAT and qualify in the test will be short-listed to attempt a written test and a personal interview. They also have to bring three letters of reference from persons who know them closely in terms of their academic/professional performance. Final selection is solely based on performance in CAT, performance in the writing test, interview scholastic achievement, work experience, and the letters of reference.

The minimum elligibility to enter IIMs is Graduation in any discipline, so first of all you should be graduate with 55% minimum.IIM entry is done through CAT exam -Common Entrance exam,This exam is conducted once every year at national level,I must say the competetion for this exam is very high.So you need to prepare very well for the exam. For this year exam date is already over so I would say better try next year. You can go coaching to get this exam clear !!!

    Eligibility criteria:

For general candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 50% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.

For SC/ST candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 45% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.

Final year candidates who will complete their gradudation in 2011 can also apply.

    Pattern of Examination:

CAT is of two and a half hours duration having multiple choice questions from the followng sections:

    Data Interpretation and logical Reasoning

Candidates are expected to perform well in all the three sections as there are separate cut-offs for individual sections as well. Each question has 5 options. A candidate gets 4 marks for a right answer and 1 mark is deducted for an incorrect answer.

What if a student fares well in CAT but doesn't have a good GPA in the graduate degree? Say the person is just eligible to give the CAT, but scores a very high percentile in it.. Can he still hope to get into the IIM's, considering the fact that he has a low GPA? Because, I heard some IIM's consider 10th, 12th and graduate performance, apart from the CAT percentile..

The meaning of IIM's is "India Institutes of Management".

The eligibility criteria for admission in IIM's this yea --

-- If a candidate is short-listed for interviews by any IIM, he/she has to comply with the following eligibility verification:

    Mark sheets and Degree Certificate

-- A candidate must show all the original mark sheets and submit attested copies to prove his/her eligibility at the time of interview. Further, if a candidate is selected for a programme, original degree certificate and mark sheets of all semesters/years along with their attested copies must be submitted for verification at the time of joining the programme.

    Reservation Category Requirements

-- If short-listed for interview, SC, ST, NC-OBC, and DA candidates must show the original caste/class/disability certificate and submit a photocopy at the time of interview. Further, if a candidate is selected for a programme, original certificate of qualifying degree and attested copy of the same must be submitted for verification at the time of joining a programme.

Candidates in the Final Year of Graduation

-- If short-listed for interview, candidates appearing for the final bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification examination must show an original certificate from the Principal/Registrar/Director of the university/institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidates belonging to SC, ST, and DA category) based on latest available grades/marks. He/she must submit an attested copy of the original certificate at the time of interview. For the PGP of IIMs, such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme PROVISIONALLY ONLY if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2012 from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2012) stating that they have completed all the requirements including appearing for supplementary exams if any (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit original mark sheet and qualifying degree certificate of having passed the bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute. They must obtain at least 50% marks or equivalent. They also must submit an attested copy of the mark sheets and qualifying degree certificate. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2012. NON-FULFILLMENT OF THIS CONDITION WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESULT IN THE CANCELLATION OF THE PROVISIONAL ADMISSION. Provisional admission will also be cancelled if it is found that the certificate (Annexure E) is found to be incorrect subsequently. IIMs would not allow any candidate to join their programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2012. The IIMs would also not offer admission to any candidate after June 30, 2012.

For the purpose of getting admission in IIM(Indian Institute of management) which are some of the best management institutes in the
country, you have to work really hard.Actually firstly you have to prepare for the premier management entrance exam that is
CAT(Common Aptitude test). This is the toughest management entrance test conducted in the country.
You may opt for a coaching classes for this purpose as you would need thorough guidance for the preparation.

After that you would be required to appear for the exam. And on the basis of score obtained by you in the examination, you
would get a call from the particular IIM.It means that different IIM's have different ranking and you
get a call depending on whether you are able to get the required score to get admission in that IIM.
After that you would be required to go through a process of group activity and finally a personal interview would
be there after which you would be finally given admission in the institute.
