    Hi,

    Semiconductors are materials with electrical conductivity and it is intermediate in magnitude as that of Conductor and Insulator. It is the Foundation of modern electronics and it is found in Radio, television and many other electronic items.

    Examples of Semiconductor are Germanium and silicon.

    A pure Semiconductor is called as an Intrinsic Semiconductor .

    The properties of the semiconductor depends on the impurities doped with it.the impurities are of
    N-Type Semiconductor
    These are the negatively charged particles and they are known as the Electrons which are negatively charged particles..
    P-Type semiconductor
    These are the positively charged particles and they are known as holes and they are of the positive ions...

    Semiconductors are mainly built of the Silicon,Arsenic,Asbestos,Germanium.etc..Most of the widely used ion is the Silicon which is the best for all the Semiconductors of all the materials...

    Semiconductors are widely used on the Transistors,Microchips.etc..
    Most of the semiconductors are widely used now a days in the transistors and these are made up of the silicon mostly now a days.A diode is the most and common and simple using of the Semiconductor and which is the best example for the Semiconductor devices.

    SEMICONDUCTOR is something which is semi-conducting and it is a material with electrical conductivity intermediate in magnitude between that of a conductor and an insulator.

    This means that it should have a conductivity of roughly between 10 p0wer(-3) to 10 p0wer(−8) siemens per centimeter.

    The Difference between Metal conductor and semi conductor is that in metal conductor the current is carried by the flow of electrons but in the case of semi- conductors the current is being carried either by the flow of electrons or by the flow of positively charged "holes" in the electron structure of the material.

    Semiconductor materials are the foundation of modern electronics, including radio, computers, telephones, and many other devices. Such devices include transistors, solar cells, many kinds of diodes including the light-emitting diode, the silicon controlled rectifier, and digital and analog integrated circuits.

    TYPES OF SEMI-CONDUCTOR MATERIALS ARE:

    ex.silicon
    most of the semiconductors have very less conductors have very less conductivity,which cannot be appreciated.
    so these are generally doped with some other elements to increase their conductivity,to increase their applications.ex. with phosphorus

    semiconductor is a device which conduct electricity in betwen range of conductor and insulator. generally silicon, germanium are considered in semiconductor.
    unlike metal as temperature increasea resistance increases but reverse ocuur in semiconductor . with increase of temperature resistance decreases in semiconductor and vice versa...
    its application
    basic use of semiconductor is in diode. now diode is used in transistor which again used in amplifier,switch.
    semiconductor is used in mobile phone, in IC, incomputer. and one of the prime use in electronics and communication engg.

    it has conductivity in between those of conDUCTOrs and INSUlators...
    in several conditions it is more useful to use these semiconductors...than that of...conductors or insulatrs...

    IC

    GAS TUBES....etc...

    semiconductor made own electronic objects nano.....

    it bring out the revolutin in electronics field....
