    food inspector is the person who takes the responsibility for giving individual inspections that determine the quality of the food processed.

    They deal with the prevention of food hazards, manufacture of safety manuals for companies and determine the verifications of the salesperson.

    The data collected will be turned over to the departments of health and other agencies that carry out research for governmental purposes

    scope:
    After finishing the course , you can find jobs in private as well as government firms. The initial salary in this field is around Rs. 9000 – 13,500 per month. Professionals will have a monthly remuneration of around Rs. 35,000/-.

    There are many exams conducted for the recruitment of Food Inspectors like UPSC Exam, All India Food Inspector Entrance Exam, MPSC, etc.

    Eligibility :

    >You must be a graduate in the field of food safety / chemistry, biology/ or agriculture.

    Food inspector is the one who is responsible for the inspection and determining the quality of food processed or made...They also deal with the prevention of the food hazards,manufacture of safety manuals..etc...

    Education needed for becoming food inspector:

    *candidate must complete bachelor degree in their related fields,and can find the jobs in private and government sectors...

    Examinations needed to qualify to become food inspector:

    UPSC conducts examinations every year for appointing the candidates as food inspectors...
    *All India food inspector exam
    *Punjab food inspector entrance exam

    Eligibility:

    *Candidate must be an Indian
    *Should have minimum of 21 years
    *Should be attained the graduation in the fields like physics,chemistry,biology,agriculture...

    Prepare well for the entrance examinations by reading well the UPSC materials provided and score good marks....

    Eligibility for Food inspector job:

    -Your age should in between 21-35 years.
    There is a relaxation for the reserved category candidates in upper age limit.

    -You have to complete your degree in food safety related field such as agriculture,biology or chemistry from any recognized university.

    Procedure to get a job:

    -You have to complete your degree in food safety related field such as agriculture,biology or chemistry from any recognized university.

    -To join the certification course offered by the local bearu of food and meat inspection.
    -You can apply for USDA inspection training .

    -You have to apply the different companies and agencies seeking food inspectors.Private food companies have the well jobs.

    • You should have passed Punjabi subject upto Matric standard.


    Age limit:

    • Your age should be between 18 to 35 years.
    • Relaxation of age 5 years for Scheduled Castes/Tribes/Backward Classes and upto 10 years for physically handicapped persons.
    • Reservation is there for SC/ST, BC, EX-Servicemen, Handicapped persons, freedom fighter & Sportspersons, Categories.

    Exams for food inspector posts is conducted by UPSC.

    Food inspector is the job to explore around and maintain the food quality by defining some rules and regulation.

    You have to work as a inspection officer by visiting differnt premises.


    Some steps to be followed to become a food inspector.1)You can obtain local bureau certificated of food inspection.2)Work part time in any food related work organisation,,take some experience

    ELIGIBILITY
    You should be a graduate in any disciple

    Age should be inbetween 18-25 years.


    EXAM PATTERN
    The question paper consisits of questions fromSCIENCE,NUMERICAL ABILITY,GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

    Food inspectors are generaly appointed to ceck te qualities of food wich have to supply for publics.Food inpector posts are now become very respected post.To become a food inspector you ave to pass graduation in Pharmacy OR Biotecnology.
    PHARMACY:- Pharmacy is a 4 year course which deals with manufacturing of drugs.Firstly pharmscy ggraduates was not eligible for food inspector but now they are eligible for such post.
    BIOTECHNOLOGY:-This field is now growing up in India also but have wast scope in foriegn countries.Course can be pursued in differeny specializations depended upon students interest.These streams students are eligible for food inspector.

    1: you should have a Bachelor degree in Pharmacy(B.Pharm) or Pharmaceutical Sciences of Medicine in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized University or its equivalent

    2:You should have minimum eighteen months’ experience in manufacture.

    3:you age should be between 21yr-35yr for general candidates.
    3yr relaxation for OBC and 5yr relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

    4:You should be Indian citizen

    5:You will be selected on the basis of Written examination and Viva Voce

    a) The written examination will consist of two papers.
    The examination in Pharmacy(core subject) will be in Paper-I consisting of 200 marks.

    B)General Knowledge will be in Paper-II consisting of 50 marks.

    c) Then there will be the Viva-VIce Test for 25 marks.

    d)Then the physical fitness test will be conducted

    The syllabus of the Paper one is as follows:
    1: Forensic Pharmacy

    2:Manufacturing Pharmacy

    3:Pharmaceutical Analysis

    4:Medicinal Chemistry

    5: Pharmacognesy

    6:Pharmacology & Toxiology

    Physical standard requirements for food inspector
    • Chest measurement for food inspector----- 81 cms
    • Height of candidate for food inspector------157.5 cms.

    To become a food inspector you need to write the food inspector exam conducted by UPSC.
    sThe exam this year is over and you shall have to wait for next exam in 2012.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    1. You need to be a gradaute in engineering in any discipline.

    2.You must be aged between 21 and 30.
    Upper age limit is 33 for OBC and 35 for SC/ST.

    3.You must be an Indian citizen.

    The test consists of a written exam and an interview.
    The written paper is of 5 papers.

    Paper I: General awareness , aptitude ,English

    Paper II And III: Objective Questions from engineering

    Paper IV and V: Subjective Questions from engineering

    DATES THIS YEAR

    *Issue of applications: March 14 - March 31

    *last date to submit forms: April 18

    * Exam on: May 29
