You can get lot of companies in your stream. So the thing you must do is prepare the subject basics thoroughly. In the 7th sem you can write GATE exam because many companies give value in GATE score. If you get good score you can also get admission in the IITs, NITs

If your aggregate is more then 70 % you can get job but you must be good at communication skills so you can get easily.

For M.Tech you must write GATE entrance exam best coaching center for GATE is ACE.
In GATE negative marks will be there , yearly once the exam will be there .
If you got good score in GATE you can also get seat in IIT's.

First of all you should be clear as what you want to do after compleating your engineering.
Do you want to go for a job or you want to go for higher studies like ME, or MTech. and also
you have to decide like in which kinds of job you are intrested in whether maintainence,
design, projects.Even if you want to go for job there is no need to do any specialised courses.
If you get a job in mainatainence or projects in a plant or factory or in a projects
execution company , you don't need to do any course. If you want to go for a job in design
then you can do short term courses in designing like Computer aided design the most famous
in which is AutoCAD, the advance courses being Pro E and Catia which are 3D CAD/CAM courses.
If you want to go for higher studies then there is no need of doing these courses.
Then you should start preparing for GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering ) which is
a entrance examination for admission to Masters course in engineering and technology.
You are eligible for this exam after your BE or even in the final year of BE.
