Career options after completing B Pharm:

lecturer’s job in pharmacy degree colleges. It takes about 5 years to reach the
grade of Sr. lecturer and about 10 years to become Assistant Professor and
about 12 years to become Professor or a Principal of a college. While in
teaching profession they can do research in pharmaceutical field and strive to
    become a well-known Research Scientist.

and the preventive measures to be taken.

    4. Medical Transcription - The B Pharm graduate can work with medical
practitioners to maintain the patient treatment history, the drug to which
    he/she is allergic etc.

    5. Analytical Chemist of Quality Control Manager – The pharmacy graduate can
play a crucial role in controlling product quality. The drug and the Cosmetics
says that the manufacturing activity should be taken up under the supervision of a technical man whose qualification should be B Pharm, B Sc, B Tech or medicine with Bio-Chemistry.

    6. Sales and Marketing – Ambitious achievers with pleasant personality and good
communication skills can opt for the job of Medical Sales Representative. The
companies prefer pharmacy graduates for this job, as they have a good
knowledge about the drug molecules, their therapeutic effects and the drug –
    drug interactions.

    7. Clinical Research - B Pharm/ M Pharm degree holders can take up career in
clinical research. The human testing phase is called the clinical trial. A
pharmacist can work as clinical research associate or clinical pharmacist and
can rise to the position of project manager. The clinical research associate
plays an important role of monitoring and overseeing the conducts of clinical
trials, which are conducted on healthy human volunteers. They have to see
that the trials meet the international guidelines and the national regulatory
    requirements.

8.Regulatory Manager - A pharmacy graduate can work as “Regulatory

Manager”(RM) in companies and contract research organisation. As an RM he
has to oversee regulatory documentation such as Clinical trial approval
    permission, marketing approval permission etc.

    10. Career in Regulatory bodies - A Pharmacist can be absorbed in the Regulatory
bodies like Food and Drug Administration. Pharmacist having experience in
clinical trial centres can also work as an inspector to inspect the clinical trial
process. For these government jobs the student needs to appear and pass the
    MPSC examination.

conducted on human volunteers. It is their responsibility to see that the clinical
trials are carried out as per the international guidelines.

    13. The B Pharm Science programme is considered as a paramedical programme.
The B Pharm Science graduates can therefore work in hospitals as hospital
    pharmacist or community pharmacist.

    14. Since they have a good knowledge of therapeutic effects of drugs and that of
drug-drug interaction, they are more suitable for a job in clinical research.
They can opt for the post of clinical pharmacist or clinical research associate in
    a clinical research laboratory.

    hai friend ,

*This is the common problem faced by almost all the bpharm graduates. They would be in the dilemma which course to pursue after their bpharm graduation or to try out a job and settle down quickly.

*Firstly i want you to be very clear in your determination but i kindly suggest u not to put your legs on two different boats in studies and job simultaneously.

*Its better to continue your further studies instead of doing job until and unless your family is financially weak and if you family really requires your financial support.

If you want to go for higher studies you can opt for following:

    >Masters in pharmacy abroad.

    >M pharm in India.

    >Niper entrance exam.

    >Gpat.

    >MBA is pharmaceutical business management.

    >manipal university.

    >bits pilani entrance exam.

*But remember that to attend the bits n niper exams you need to get qualified in gpat entrance exam which is an national exam.

*if you are an oc candidate take care about the minimum cut off mark in gpat and prepare to that exam accordingly. from past 3 to 4 years cut off for oc was nearly 60 to 79.

*For BC SC and ST the cut off would be much less is 20 marks less approximately.

Re: What to do after B.Pharm?

    Hi Buddy,

After completion of your B.Pharmacy you'll be having two options open for you.

    1. JOB
    2. Higher Education

    1. Job :

After the completion of your B.C.A one of the option would be to search a job. You will be having many options open for u like public sector jobs and private jobs.

Public Sector jobs : Pharmacist, Chief-Pharmacist, Drug Inspector, Food Inspector, etc..

Private Sector Jobs : Analyst, Qualtity Control, Nutrition Officer, Medical officer, etc..

    2. Higher Education :

You can also opt for higher education for post graduation course, here are a few options to consider

    1. M. Pharmacy
    2. M.B.A
    3. M.S

Since you have studied in B.Pharmacy then it would be Better for you to do M.Pharmacy because the same subjects are studied in depth with a specific course specialization. After Completion of M.Pharm you can have numerous opportunities available. As it would be keeping in the same stream where you had your graduation, same will be your post graduation as well.

If you opt out for M.B.A there are various fields in M.B.A and there are pharmacietical Specializations as well they are

    MBA in Pharmaceutical Management
    MBA in Hospital Management

Apart from these there are standard specializations in M.B.A such as

    Finance
    Marketing
    Operating
    Information Technology
    Human Resources

You would be required to exhibit great amount of communication skills and management skills to succeed in any of the specializations mentioned above. The opportunities of getting into a successful career are plenty, if you work hard and show great determination.

M.S is nothing but similar to M.Pharmacy but the same education in a foreign university for which one has to take GRE examination after which depending upon the score you would have to choose the universities accordingly and apply for it, if they give you admission they'll send you I20, as you get your I20 you have to complete the other proceedings and prepare for Visa, if your VISA is approved then you can join that university.

You can Choose any of the two options i.e either Job or higher studies but if u join job after graduation it would take you some time to settle down in your career but if you choose higher education then it will help you settle down quickly because of your dual degree and continuous flow of education without break will also help you being focused and achieving higher.

    All the best.

    Hi,
Now after B. Pharma lot of people choose MBA pharma. But you can choose M.Pharma over it. You will get a whole list of M. Pharma jobs in www.jobisjob.co.in/m+pharma/jobs and thus you will see M.Pharma is a better choice. This will enhance your career as a pharmacist.
Or another good option can be MBA in hospital management after B. Pharma.
