Re: What is the difference between NET and SET?

NET and SET both the examination are conducted for Lecturer post and JRF but the difference is that NET qualified candidates are eligible to apply in any part of India and SET qualified can apply only with in Desired state for which they have applied.

Candidates must have scored 55 % or more in post graduation programm and from a recognized college.

5% is relaxable for sc/st obc reserved category as ruled followed by government of India.

If you percentage is less than 55% than you are not be able to apply for NET /SET.

You have to register online to sit in examination hall .
Net Examination is conducted two times in one year in the month of June and December by UGC.
And SET is conducted by Each state .

The eligibility criteria and education qualification both are same for NET and SET examination.

    Thanks .
