MCA is a three year full time course which is geared towards software with some exposure to hardware and management. M.Tech on the other hand is two year full time course as well, which depends on the area of your specialization, whether it is IT, B.E. or BSc. Depending on the technical aspect of the subject that you choose, the curriculum is designed. There is demand for the talented in both the field, and pay is given on the basis of the expertise that you hold

Re: What is the difference between MCA and M.Tech?

MCA stands for Masters of computer Applications. The main aim is on developing diverse types of application softwares rather than designing computer hardwares and system softwares. It is a three years programme with the eligibilty criteria of pursuing graduation in any computer related field such as B.C.A.

As far as post graduation after BCA is concerned,it is upto the personal interests of the student to choose between the various courses. If you want to pursue your career in sole computer related streams, you should join mca .

M.TECH can pe done after b.tech to get more details on th engineering aspects.

    Dear friend,

M.Tech computers is much advanced study of computers and also much valuable.
In jobsprospects point of viewM.Tech computers is the best choice If compared to MCA.

MCA is course is specifically designed for the study of IT & computers .The syllabus only covers computer related subjects but not any other engineering subjects.

And if compared M.Tech with MCA then MCA is the best choice.

    All the best......................

    Hello,
    You asked a good question.
MCA stand for master in computer application and M.tech means master in technology.
MCA is a three years master degree course.
To be eligible you should have pass in any recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 year's duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or should have pass in any recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 year's duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the main subjects.

Some colleges conduct there own entrance exam and you need to pass in order to get admitted while in most cases the admission is entirely on merit based.
IN MCA you will read about computer programming, software development etc.
    You can do M.tech after B.tech.Without B.tech you can't do M.tech.
