MCA is a post graduation course in computer application. But B.E (Computer Science) is a graduation course in computer science. In MCA, the candidate gets theoretical knowledge in both hardware and software. Meanwhile, the B.tech course is related to the application of the concepts. B.E (Computer Science) students have more career opportunities than MCA candidates. The pay scale is also higher for B.E students. The candidates can pursue MCA only if they completed the bachelor course BCA, whereas you can pursue B.E after completing your 12th in science stream.

    dear friend,

If you are in your 12th then it will better for you to go for B.E in Computer Engineering.

But if you already complete your B.Sc. in Computer Application then MCA will really can help you to go for the higher studies like M.Tech,M.Phil etc.

The main difference between MCA and B.Tech in Computer Science is :-
Unlike MCA , Computer Science B.Tech deals with the Computer Science as well as the engineering behind it .

    Hi

According to your Query both MCA and B.E are their own importance.

Both are similar. That is Both are related to software field.

But B.E is better than MCA.

B.E is one of the graduation course. The duration of this course is 4 years.
The minimum eligibility criteria to get the admission in B.E is you have to complete your 10+2 in any recognized board.

MCA (Master in computer application)is one of the post graduation course. The duration of this course is 3 years.

The minimum eligibility to get the admission in MCA is you have to complete your graduation with 50% of marks in nay recognized university.

After completion of B.E you can go for Higher studies namely MBA/M.Tech.
After completion of MBA/M.Tech you have the better opportunities for that.

So its better to go for B.E.

    All d best....

MCA is equivalent to BE/B.Tech(Computer Science). Yes,its true that MCA get a bit more salary in comparison to BE/B.Tech.
But it does not mean that MCA is better than BE/B.Tech.Indeed both are having same importance.

After doing MCA one can be called as software developer.
But,After doing B.tech one can be called as Computer Engineer.
finally software developers only concentrate developing software coding part,
but b.tech engineers concentrates with verity of platforms such as developing,
technical support , mentenance etc .
So as a MCA stud these/both are as nearly same.

MCA is a master degree and BE is the bachelor degree. Bu the syllabus is almost same and there is only minor difference between the syllabus parts. MCA can be done after the graduation and BE can be done just after the 12th class. For both the courses you have to give the entrance exam.

    Hi

MCA stands for the Master's in Computer Application and it is a Master's/Post Graduate course. It can be done by minimum graduate only.

MCA is a post graduation related to computer Applications stream. Its usually the advanced course of the BCA i.e Bachelor in Computer Application.

Similarly the B.E Computer Science is Bachelor in Engineering Computer Science. Its a graduation course which can be done right after passing class 12th.

Its also a computer related course and after completion of this, M.Tech in CS can be done as an advanced form of this program.

So the only difference is the Graduation and Post Graduation courses. Rest both are related to the studies of the Computers, Programming, DBMS, Networking, etc....

The MCA is equivalent to a B.Tech CS student. So the BCA + MCA = B.Tech in CS. M.Tech is more advanced.

    Hope this helps

    All the best

THE difference between MCA and B.TECH is that MCA (MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS) AND B.tECH (bachelor of technology )-computer science,

the MCA student can get only theoretical knowledge during entire MCA degree, but a B.Tech - computer can get MUltuways knowledge,
in B.tech we syudy not only COmputer books but also some BOOKS from Electronics and mechanical too.

and also the pay scales of A mca degree holder and B. tech holder, WOULD BE DIFFERENT,
a B,tech holder can get the better salary then the mca students.

    thanks

it covers various aspects of computational theory, programming, algorithm design and optimization, network and database management, mobile technologies, electronics, mathematics, probability,statistics,accounting,finance,etc...
the MCA program prepares students to take up positions as system analysts, system designers, programmers and managers in any field related to information technology.
    B.E COURSE
computer science is an mixture and application of
    • "programming ",
    • "hardware administration",
    • "software"administration",
    • "networking"

    Hi
MCA is the course where other student other than BSC computer science or
BSC computer technology can do...MCA is better course than
MSC ...since many company wanted the guys MCA rather than MSC .So, it would be better to go with MCa
"MCA & MScIT both of them are mastres degree......different is just in the duration.....
both courses provide good software skills.....i think after MCA & MScIT
your skills are more important.....So give attention to your knowledge and skills....they will give you the right job...."

There is no difference, and it depends on the college. Some colleges have MCA while others have B.E CS......both the options will not be available in the same college, if you notice.....so, you can go for either of the two.

    Hi Friend ,

What is the difference between MCA and B.E(Computer Science)?
    Good Morning
what the difference between mca and b.e cs?
MCA : It is a post graduate Master's degree in Computer Application. The students who wish to pursue MCA must have a B.C.A./B.Sc./ B.Com/B.A. degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at graduation.

You have to spent atleast one semester in an industry developing a software system out of 6 semesters . The MCA programme is planned to have 5 theory subject plus two laboratories each semester which cover information technology, business management and mathematics.

Where as BE in Computer Science is a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science , which is a technical Degree.

Computer Science is not just about building computers or writing computer programs, Computer Science is no more about building computers and developing software ,Computer science is not about the tools we use to carry out computation.

It is about how we use such tools, and what we find out when we do. The solution of many computer science problems may not even require the use of computers—just pencil and paper. As a matter of fact, problems in computer science have been tackled decades before computers were even built.

Computer Science is about building computers and writing computer programs, and much much more!

Hope you might understand the differece between the Two Degrees .

MCA is Equivalent to ME (Computer Science and Engineering)

Masters is always MORE and HIGH VALUE than a Bachelors.

It’s really very Wrong to Compare BE / Btech to MCA, because, as you all know that BE / Btech is NOT Eligible for doing Ph.D (CS/IT), as MCA degree is Eligible for Ph.D

The Person, Who Compare BE / Btech to MCA should study about the Difference between a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree.

MCA is a Post Graduate (PG) Professional Degree, Where as BE / Btech is just an Under Graduate (UG) Degree. So, MCA Degree Holders usually get MORE Respect and Recognition than a BE / Btech.

MCA is Equivalent to ME (Computer Science and Engineering).

Particularly, MCA with Only B.Sc. (Computer Science) background is Equivalent to ME (Computer Science and Engineering).

    B.Sc. Computer Science (3 Yrs) + MCA (3 Yrs) = 6 Years.

    BE Computer Science (4 Yrs) + ME (2 Yrs) = 6 Years.

MCA and ME both are Equal.

Companies are giving Equal priority to both MCA and ME.

Two Master’s Degrees, MCA and ME, are treated Same for jobs and there is no difference in the competence ratings.

Both MCA and ME (Computer Science and Engineering) Professional Degree courses, the contents of theory and practical syllabus are Same.

MCA and ME Degree holders are Equal to each other.

MCA – Master of Computer Applications.

ME – Master of Engineering (Computer Science and Engineering).

Thanks and best regards to you all.
