Admission in IIT's for M.Tech program is done on the basics of Rank obtained in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)...

It's an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology.

Eligibility criteria for GATE :-

For doing M.Tech in IIT you need to give the GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam first with minimum 60% marks in graduation.GATE exam is taken in many branches like computer,IT,electronics and telecommunication,instrumentation,electrical,mecha nical,etc.You should take GATE exam in that stream in which you have done graduation.Like IIT-JEE you have two attempts for taking the GATE exam and you can start preparing for it during the final year of engineering.Also minimum 60% marks are required in 10+2 to be eligible for taking the GATE exam.

Studying in IIT of India is a pride as they are the top college for providing quality education.

To get an M.Tech seat in IIT one must possess a minimum of 60% aggregate in graduation.
You must also qualify the GATE(Graduate aptitude test in engineering) which shall be conducted by IITs or IISc institutes every year, this exam shall be conducted on second Sunday of February.
A good percentile in this exam shall only fetch a seat into IITs.

Well as you want to take admission to the IIT's for the Mtech program then you will have to take the GATE exam in the respective branch in which you are doing your engineering .GATE exam is conducted once in a year to select students for the prestigious IIT's and other institutes which are equally good as IIT's.

Those who are in prefinal year are also allowed to take exam.

hii, first of all you need to write the GATE exam,its an all india levelexam, to get seat for the MTECH in top colleges like the IISC,IITs.for the IITs you need to get mnimum percentile of 96.
you need to preoare atleast 6 months to crack the GATE exam with ease.you need to study all the standard books,solve as many problems as you can , and keep giving the MOck exams.

The eligibility criteria for M-TECH in IIT admission:-

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.
