    What are the chances for a medical student to become IFS(Indian Foreign Service) officer through UPSC exam? When should I start my preparation for same? Suggest the subjects that I should opt in UPSC exam?

    i am studying in karnataka institute of medical sciences in final year mbbs. i am interested to take up upsc exam as i am interested to join ifs. please fill me on the chances that a medical student has in getting into ifs.when should i start preparing and what subjects would suit a person of my background? should i finish my post graduation before i try for this?

    For upsc exam only one degree is sufficient.U can start preparation from now itself.No need to finish pg course.Dont waste time.Just start to prepare.
    The Following Combinations are
    NOT allowed by the UPSC:
    1.Political Science & International
    relations and Pubilc Administration.
    2.Commerce & Accountancy and
    Management.
    3.Anthropopgy and Sociology.
    4.Mathematics and Statistics.
    5.Agriculture and Animal Husbandry &
    Veterinary Science.
    6.Management and Public
    Administration.
    7.Any two branches of engineering.
    8.Animal Husbandry & Veterimary
    Science and Mediacal Science.
    9.Combination if two Literatures.
    Other than these combinations u can select anything.

    I m doctor and working as medical officer in a government sector please guide me how I prepare for pcs exam and what subject should I choose for it .let u know that my age is in this big will be 31year I ll eligible for this exam or not and how many attempts can I get
