my friend u have a vast career option in front of u after your bsc.maths just like:

After compliting B.Sc with math and physics you can go for Defence.
    Taxation Department,Financial Services like Analysist,economist.
Railway,Banking,SSC,CDS,Auronotical/Mechanical/Technical Engineering,Pilot are also have good scope.

You can also apply for JRF and CISR in the net exam after compliting post graduate.you can do P.Hd .....but i would say u should not drop your b.tech course it is much renowned and a nice job then bsc.maths.... all the best

i think u should drop 1 year and prepare for Engineering/medical exam.
B.Tech is much better than B.Sc.

I would suggest you that B.Tech is a very good course.
In order to get a seat in a college of there choice many students do take a gap of one year,so that they can crack the entrance exam.
So taking a gap of one year is not such a big problem.
But at the same time gap of one year is not too short.
Although you are intelligent but you will have to take care that in this period of one year you dont lose hope & prepare well with enough hard work & concentration.
Also do take care that you solve previous year question papers ,sample question papers, etc.

it is your personal choice as to whether you want to take up B.Sc or do B.Tech. if you have already secured admission for B.Tech, you can go ahead with it. otherwise, B.Sc isn't a bad option either and it may be be wise of you to take up a course rather than wasting an entire year.
B.Sc maths has good career scope. After a B.Sc in maths, it is advisable for you to do in M.Sc in the same as candidates with M.Sc are preferred. There are many companies who hire MSc maths graduates for computer work. Even google hires mathematicians for seaching algorithms

    dear frnd

    b.sc maths has good scope
you can even get a job abroad as "content author developer"

    but still
in ur case take bsc maths under despair
u shud like whatever u do
ur interest seems to be in engg.

i can suggest you two things.

    FIRST

    drop a year
prepare hard for iitjee or aieee
excel in it and there will no turnin' back for u
never listen to ppl discouraging u

    SECOND
to be on a safer side
get urself admitted in bsc maths
still prep for entrances and allocate vry little time to ur college studies
    u can still achieve!!!!!!!!

    ALL THE BEST

    hi

    career scope after B.Sc Mathematics
Mathematics and Statistics graduates are employed in many different areas. Industry, commerce, government departments and teaching represent some of the more obvious ones. Some jobs require specific mathematical or statistical skills while others, although not directly involving these skills, require the ability to think precisely and reason logically.
However, for more greater job prospect I will advice you to go for Master or P.hd.level,after that you dont have to search for jobs.
You can find any jobs Banks, business complex, various statistics and academic jobs in government as well as private sector and many more.

    good luck

    Dear,
After completing your B.Sc in mathematics, you may choose any field as a career that is listed below.
    >> Civil services examination.
    >> Finance services and accounting department
    >> Banking sector
    >> Teaching
    >> UPSC and SSC jobs

I advice you to not go for b.Tech because that is not a good option after having a graduation degree. Gap year is some what make no sense.
Take m suggestion and go for higher study and prepare for examination for jobs in continuation with your PG.
