Re: What are the career prospects for MBBS graduates?

Well, the obvious choice is to practice in a government associated hospital. After a good amount of experience for quite a number of years you can open your own nursing home. But before opening one you have to take precautions on the safety, security and management side of the nursing home. You would need few other good doctors. You need some MBA pass outs, who can chalk out the rough draft of your nursing home while keeping in mind the safety and cleanliness measures and also plan the working procedure of the nursing home's management department. They must be specialists in different genres and are ready to check patients 24*7. Remember though there is a business side to it, the human side to it is the most important. With newer, safer and secure nursing homes patients will get more facilities. So please hugely keep in mind about this aspect.
The other option is for a higher study, that is, completing an MD degree. This will enhance your medical skills and knowledge. You have to sit for joint entrance examinations here also, just like MBBS and on clearance of the test can you get the admission. So now you choose.

Hello friend!
http://http://images.inmagine.com/16...rbs0720827.jpg
You have wide variety of opportunities after Mbbs .After MBBS doctors may prepare for work in general practice in Government or private hospitals or they may choose to specialize. More than 70% of all MBBS graduates try for postgraduate qualifications, rather than going in for a job or private practice. At the post graduate level, there is specialisation in Medicine and Surgery. Career opportunities also exist in medical services of the army, navy and air force, under the Ministry of Defense or in charitable institutions. Some candidates after post graduation, also opt to serve in medical colleges and training institutes as teachers or in research institutes and medical colleges as researchers. Many go for private practice/ self employment. You can also opt for Medical Underwriting i.e. you could try working in ICICI Prudential, Birla sunlife and other insurance companies. Other career options can be found in the field of hospital administration and medical transcription.

Best of luck!
