    You must pass Civil Services Aptitude Test to get in to the position of IAS officer. The exam is carried out by UPSC. It comprises of two sessions, prelims and mains. In the preliminary session, there will be two papers. The first paper covers questions on GK and current events where as the second paper covers questions on mental ability, reasoning, etc. Those who pass this level will be short listed for the mains examination. The mains examination covers questions on optional subjects selected and General Studies. It also includes an Essay paper and questions on English. Passed candidates need to attend an interview which is the final selection round.

    you must pass the upsc entrance examination.This exam is conduct by every year.it is the all over india exam.

    any degree with decent university and then above 50%

    This exam is conducted by U.P.S.C.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION:-

    Educational qualification:-
    Candidates who have completed their graduation from any stream are eligible to appear for the test.
    Those who have completed any professional or technical studies can also apply.
    Those who are appearing or the final year of the qualifying examination can also attend the test.

    % required:-
    There is no minimum requirement of marks for writing this test.
    Candidates having a pass mark can apply.

    Citizenship:-
    Only those candidates who are citizens of India can appear for the exam.
    Those who have migrated from other countries with an intention to become a permanent citizen of India can also apply.

    You must prefer a coaching institute for this. You must not apply until you are well prepared. Age limit for this is 21 to 30 years for general catagory. SC & ST are exempted 5 years in age and handicapped are exempted 10 years. It is conducted in three phases :-
    (a) Preliminary exam which comprises of 2 papers.
    (b) Main exam which comrises of 9 papers.
    (c) Interview.

    After completing your BA Degree course you are eligible to become IAS Officer. IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Services and to become IAS Officer you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination. This examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year for recruitment to various services like the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, as well as Group A and Group B Central Services.

    The Notification of this examination will be Published every year in the Month of February in the employment Newspaper or in the UPSC Website. Eligible candidates may fill the application form Online Only.

    If you have attained the age of 21 years, then you are eligible for UPSC Civil services examination, because to apply for this examination, your age should between 21 to 30 years, But the last date of apply for this examination was already completed. If you have missed the chance in this year, then please prepare for next year examination.

    ~~ To apply for this examination your must have completed your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognized University.

    ~~ Final year appearing candidates are also eligible for this examination. The Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

    dear you have to lot of hard work to get sucessfull in IAS exam , other that that you have to follow the details below and register your name and get the aplcation from the IAS official website.
    IAS is one of the prestigious job to do and it has such a great value that every one want to prepare for IAS, among all of them some of them can reach the goal who will have the strong determinations , who can do hard work, planning etc..
    as we know that there is change in the syllabus introduced by the CSAT 2011,
    the IAS exam will be consists of
    • prelims,
    • mains,
    • and finally interview stage ,
    you have to clear the IAS prelims to claim the mains and than interview session,
    education eligibility,
    you can have graduate in any discipline from a university recognized by the university grants commission (UGC).
    if you are in the final year of your graduation than you can fill the main exam form.

    You are passed B.A so you are eligible for write IAS exams.Any graduation is enough for IAS exams.

    Your age should be 21-30,or you are sc/st/obc your age is relax able to 3-5 years.

    You must pass UPSC entrance exam.

    Three types of exam pattern is there for IAS exam:

    1.Preliminary examination
    2.Main examination
    3.Interview.

    If you are passed in three exam you will become IAS officer.

    To become an IAS officer you must fill the application forms for the CIVIL SERVICES and then appear in the exams of CIVIL SERVICES.

    This test is conducted every year by UPSC.

    You can fill the application form for IAS when the notification for the exam is out and you can fill it on the website www.upsconline.nic.in.

    You can also fill the application form Offline after buying the application form from the designated post offices of the country.

    There is some relaxation in fees of the application form for the Reserved categories.

    You must prepare for the Civil Services Aptitude Test which is conducted by the UPSC ...and if you can get a good rank u 'll be able to opt for IAS otherwise you have the options of IPS as well as IFS and many other civil services...

    Indian Administrative Service, to be an IAS officer one has to appear for the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment to the top post in the various department of Govt. of India.

    Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

    But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.


    The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.


    Also you must be in citizen in India.

    dear friend ,

    IAS stands for Indian administrative service .this exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year .

    to become a IAS officer you must have following characteristics :-

    you must be a citizen of India .

    you must have done graduation with any stream from any recongnised college/university .

    your age must be within 21 to 30 years .age relaxation of 3 to 5 years is given to sc/st or obc candidates .

    since you have a graduation degree and if you have following qualifications then :-

    you should first apply for application form .

    then you have to give preliminary exams,if you succeed in that then you go to next stage .

    next stage is called as mains now, if you get success in that as well then you enter next stage .

    next stage is personal interview if you pass this as well then you will have to for medical .

    no. of attempts :-

    for general :- 4 times .

    for sc/st :- no limits .

    for obc:- 7 times .

    Citizenship:-
    Only those candidates who are citizens of India can appear for the exam.
    Age limit:-
    The age limit is between 21 years to 30 years.
    There is relaxation of age for OBC, SC/ST.
    FOR OBC- 21-33 years
    Number of attempts:-
    general- 4 attempts
    OBC-7 attempts
    SC/ST- no limit
