To become a chartered accountant, you have to pursue the CA course. For getting admission to this course, you have to clear the common proficiency test (CPT). The candidate must have passed the 10th examination which is recognized by Law in India or by the Central Government to appear for the test. There is no restriction in terms of percentage scored or age. The candidate has to pay the tuition and registration fee of Rs. 1500/- along with the filled application. The total fee for the whole CA course comes to be Rs. 17,500/-. The application form and the information brochure will be available from the first week of October 2012. The last date for submission of application will be in the last week of October 2012. The exam will be usually held in the second week of December 2012.

You have to firstly get registered with the institute of Chartered accountants of India and after that you would be eligible to appear
for the first examination in the whole procedure and that is CPT(Common proficiency test).
After that you have to fill an examination form which is issued one or two months before the examination and after that
you would be provided a admit card, using that admit card you would be able to appear for the exam.
After that if you qualified the exam, you have to again get registered for the intermediate stage(IPCC- INTEGRATED PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE COURSE).
If you are able to qualify this exam, you can get registered for the next exam. But before that you have start your articleship
training under a chartered accountant. You can register within 30 days of starting that training.
