The minimum eligibility required for IAS/IPS entrance exam is graduation from any recognized university in any decipline.
SO after 10th you have to complete your 12th first followed by graduation then only you will be eligible for IAS/IPS entrance exam.

    PREPARATION FOR I.A.S EXAM

the essential ingredient of succeeding on an exam is the knowledge of the contents and structure of the exam and the process the upse (union .public.service.commission).of indian .conducts.
    the.ias exam the three step.process.is

You can apply for civil services only when you complete your graduation with 55%. Relaxation is given to reserved classes. Its good that you are thinking for it very earlier so you can start preparing for the general studies and the current affairs. Also you can see the main stream subject in which you are intrested in and should opt that only subject as a optional paper in the exam.

    Hi friend !

After completing 10th standard you should complete intermediate to get into any fields .
For IAS/IPS you go for DEGREE in any mathematical background , this takes 3yrs to complete .
After this completion you apply for civils to get into IAS/IPS .
It takes around 7yrs to become IAS/IPS after 10th standard that too if you concentrate more .

    Al the best !

Re: What is the best possible way for a 10th Passed candidate to appear in IAS/IPS in future?

To become IAS/IPS you have to appear for the civil service exam which is conducted by the UPSC but you are not eligible for the exam

    Eligibility
You must have passed your graduation in any streams .
You should be between 21 to 30 years if you belongs to general category and for SC/ST upper age limit is 35 years and for OBC its 33 years .
There is also relaxation given to reserved caste students in the number of attempts for general the limit is 4 and for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST no limit to take the exam .

As you have only passed class 10th which means that you are not eligible for the examination but since you aim is to become the IAS then you can start preparing for it from 10th class only .

1.First thing i would advice you to take ARTS streams because this streams is easy to study and side by side you can also able to prepare for the exam.

2.Start reading news papers and watch news channel .Its a good habit and will help you to know about the things going around you .

3.IAS exams also includes general studies so since you are in arts streams so it will help you to some extent

Re: What is the best possible way for a 10th Passed candidate to appear in IAS/IPS in future?

    Dear saurabh.
Indian Administrative Services(IAS) and Indian Police Services(IPS) are the most popular exams of India. These both are conducted by UPSC annually for the posts of high ranking officers in the Indian administration block and the police block. Being the toughest exams of India they provide excellent career to the candidates.
To appear in these exams one just need to have a bachelor degree in any discipline. That means you just have to pass your graduation (just pass) in order to become eligible to write these exams.
Also you must be 21 to 30 years of age while applying and can attempt it only 4 times.
    The exam has 3 phases:
    1. Preliminary exam
    2. Main exam
    3. Interview

however if you want to appear and then crack these entrances then you should go with the arts stream after 10th. As a general practice, arts students are more favoured in IAS and IPS. So if you just want to become an IAS or IPS Officer (just) then complete your graduation from arts and then apply in the exam.
Also as a tip from me take up public administration with sanskrit as the subjects for these exams as maximum selections are done from this area.

    : :GOOD LUCK: :
    Haider Khan

You can't give IAS entrance examination just after 10th class. To give IAS entrance exam one must have graduate degree. Also one requires to pass his/her graduation with atleast 50% of marks. After 10th you can select any stream according to your interest in 11. Complete your intermediate. After completing 10+2 you can opt for any graduation course. Choose according to your interest of filed. Do preparation for IAS exam while studying for graduation. You have to work hard you have to maintain both your graduation studies and IAS preparation studies. You can join any coaching institute to prepare well for IAS. IAS is very tough exam. You need to be aware of all current affairs. You should have good command over language and also you should have good general knowledge. All the best.

Re: What is the best possible way for a 10th Passed candidate to appear in IAS/IPS in future?

    friend,

The basic eligibility criteria to appear in the IAS/IPS is that you have to be a graduation
degree holder and must be having a minimum of 50% aggregate in the final year of the
degree. So you have to first clear your 12th and then pursue any graduation degree and then after wards you are eligible to appear in the civil services exam conducted by UPSC every year.

There is not any compulsion to pursue any particular degree or subject and that choice is on to
you.You can choose any subject of your interest and what you have to do is to master that subject from basic to the advanced because they can ask anything in the exams.

You also have to learn languages like English and hindi so do read them also. That will effect you in your scores. There are various optional subjects in the entrance exam. The paper is conducted in three stages.

1)CSAT(civil services aptitude test) contains objective type questions.
    2)MAINS contains subjective type questions
    3)PERSONAL INTERVIEW.

The notification for the exam will come out in the month of january and it will be open upto
end of february and the exam is conducted in the month of april.

The age criteria for IAS is between 21-30 years and 3 years of relaxation for OBC candidates.5 years of relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

A candidate must be an indian citizen.

for more informaton regarding the eligibility criteria contact the website
    www.upsc.gov.in

    good luck.

Re: What is the best possible way for a 10th Passed candidate to appear in IAS/IPS in future?

Any Bachelor degree obtained from a recognized university is enough to appear for the Civil service entrance.
The main subjeect you have studied can be taken as your main paper in the MAIN in civil service.

For ease you can join humanities / commerce group in +2 and can join BA in Public administration / Political science or even you can get into LLB5yr / LLB3yr( depending on your preparation )
With these degrees you can apply for the Civil service exam.
But the main thing is , in the mean time you need to do a thorough preparation in general knowledge , current affairs etc.
This exam needs thorough preparation and dedication from your side.
You can aquire as much as knowledge you can while pursuing your +2 and degree courses.
    All the best.

    dear friend ,

do not get to excited at this stage for IPS & &IAS exams .

because for appearing in this exams you must have a degree of graduation from well recongnised college .

if you are interested to appear in this exam then you will have to complete your 10+2 followed by your graduation course .

your age must be within 21 to 30 years .

age relaxtion is given to sc/st & obc candidates .

you must be a citizen of India .

hope this answer will provide you some help .

all the best for future .

Re: What is the best possible way for a 10th Passed candidate to appear in IAS/IPS in future?

    Hi friend,

Well, there's no way to directly appear for Civil services after 10th .

Now you will ask why, it's because of :

    >> You must have atleast passed Graduation for it, and you are far away from it.

    >> You must have age minimum 21, which i guess wont be yours

So, it will be better that you prepare for it until you become a graduate.
Pass 10th and 12th in a nice way and you will get admission in graDUAtion and pass it and you are eligible for it.

    Hope it helps!!
