Re: What is the best option for M.Sc after completing B.Sc with life sciences?

    Hello,
Right now, from job point of view and from the scholarship point of view M.Sc in Bio-informatics or Microbiology would be best for you.
Sometimes some institutes have(if they are autonomous) have their integrated M.Sc programs to offer you after your B.Sc.If your institute offers M.Sc. you can go for it or you can seek M.Sc in Bio-informatics or Microbiology in some other universities. If you are opting for some other university then you must keep in mind that you will have to sit for their internal test. If you clear this test, then mostly master degree institutes hold another round of interview to shortlist candidates for their master degree. Now let me come to the job prospects. You can opt for lectureship in colleges. But when you try lectureship without a PhD. then you will have to remain as a part time jobholder with less than around 9K as your salary. You can definitely go for this but keep in mind to complete your PhD. while having this job. Then you will be promoted to permanent positions in that very institute. Also you can go for project associate jobs. You will be allotted as a research scholar while being in such government aided projects and at the end of the project you will not only have a scholarship to your credit but you may have your PhD. thesis complete to be submitted.Think about it.
