    What is the basic eligibility criteria required for getting registered to IAS exam? Am I eligible to appear for IAS exam at the age of 20 while pursuing B.Com second year?

    Sir i am Sayali, i have completed my 12th from CBSE with commerce stream, and recently studying in FY B.com and in next year i'll be completing my 20 yrs in april....and 21 will be running.....and also in SY B.com...so sir could u plz tell can i appear for ias exam.........? and what all subjects i can prefer....as i have pas-out with following subjects...English, Hindi, business studies, economics, and accountancy......
    sir plz reply as soon as possible.....

    Dear aspirant,
    sorry, you are now till not eligible for giving Upsc civil service exam.
    Now you are in B.com 2nd year and also your age is only 20 years.
    So you are no eligible.
    For cinil service exam your
    age should be 21-30 and
    education a pass or a final year student of graduation.

    No, You are not eligible for IAS at the age of 20years and also you are still doing B.Com 2nd year. So, first finish your degree then you will be eligible for IAS exam.



    Eligibility criteria for IAS::

    AGE LIMIT
    1)21 years must be completed by the 1st AUGUST of that year,
    2)GENERAL-30,OBC-33,SC/ST-35;EX-SERVICEMEN WILL GET 5 YEARS EXEMPTION


    ATTEMPTS
    OPEN-4,OBC-7,SC/ST-NO LIMIT

    You must be a citizen of India.
    You must complete your Graduation Degree(No restriction in Min.Percent)

    UPSC has changed the pattern of highly respected IAS exam from 2011 .
    In the new pattern the Preliminary Test (PT) for IAS exam is replaced by Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT).

    IAS will be done in 3phases:
    1.Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT)
    2.Main Exams
    3.Interview


    The Preliminary Examination: There are two papers for the preliminary round. There is one on general studies and another on an optional subject. The question papers are set in both Hindi and English. Each paper is for a duration of two hours. General study covers history, geography, economics and so on. The question papers have objective type multiple choice questions. The general studies paper carries 150 marks. The syllabus for the optional subject is the same as that for graduation level. The question paper for the optional subject carries 300 marks.

    The Prelims includes 2 papers of two hundred scores equally common to all applicants.
    Paper 1 consists the Questions on:
    - Indian politics
    - Current affairs
    - GK
    - Indian History
    - Geography
    - General Science and Economy

    And the 2nd paper comprises of questions about:
    - Mental ability
    - Comprehension skills
    - Logical reasoning
    - Passage
    - Statistics and decision making ability.

    Main Exam: The second stage is the main examination that includes written tests and an interview. The written test consists of nine papers (essay type answers to be written)You are required to select 2 optional papers for the civil services Mains, while GS and Essay are standard to all people.

    Mandatory Papers in Mains:
    - English, and one Indian language paper

    The IAS interview is led by UPSC members and technocrats and it's the final stage.!!

    Age should be completed 21 years

    graduation from any one affiliated university

    number of attempts for OBC 7

    SC/ST - NO LIMIT

    after getting your degree you will apply..

    Well sorry to say you are not eligible for IAS.
    IAS stands for Indian Administrative service.UPSC will hold the civil services in every year.

    Eligibility for IAS:

    -Nationality:Indian
    -Educational qualification:You have to pass your graduation with 50% of marks in any recognized university.
    -Age limit:Your age should in between 21-30 years.


    According your query still you are in B.com final year so you are not eligible for IAS.
    So please complete your graduation.Then you are eligible for IAS.

    No you are not eligible for IAS exams at the age of 20.

    Eligibility criteria for IAS:-

    **A candidate must completed his Bachelor degree graduation in any stream from any recognized university.
    **There is NO minimum percentage criteria is required.
    **Age limit is 21 to 30years.

    Age Relaxation:-
    --for BC 21 to 33years
    --for Sc/st 21 to 35years.

    dear frnd,for IAS you should 21 to 30 years olds.you should have the Bachelorís degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification.

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become IAS Officer you have to complete your Graduation degree course first form a recognised University. If you have pursuing your 2nd year degree course then you are Not eligible to apply for Next year UPSC Civil services examination.

    >> So, please complete your Graduation degree course first and then apply for this examination.

    Eligibility For IAS Exam

    To become an IAS Officer, you need to clear the Civil Service Exam which is conducted every year by the UPSC

    A candidate must satisfy the following minimum conditions to appear in the exam :-

    1) the candidate must be a graduate or a final year graduation student in any discipline from a recognized University

    2) The candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general candidates,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST


    Maximum number of attempts for general candidates is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST there is no limit

    Since you haven't even completed your B.Com hence,currently you are not eligible for appearing in the Civil Service Exams but from the final year onward,you can appear in the exams..

    Hi,
    You are not eligible to give civil service Examination while pursuing B.Com second year Because....
    1)FOR this exam your age should be minimum 21
    2)You have degree or you are in final year of dgree.

    To Appear IAS Examination,you need to crack the Civil Service Examination.

    And Your age should between 21 - 30 yrs.So,if your age should between 21 - 30 yrs,then definitely you are Eligible for civil Service Examination.

    The candidate should have a graduate degree from a Recognized University Or Equivalent Qualification.

    30 Yrs for general candidates,33 yrs for OBC candidates and 35 year for SC/ST candidates.

    Three gap from Graduation is not matter,your age should between 21 - 30 yrs and you have a graduate degree.

    Civil service consist of three stage : preliminary,main and Interview.

    Preliminary Examination consist of two paper.Both the paper is Objective type(Multiple Choice).

    Main Examination Consist of nine Paper.

    ELIGIBILITY for IAS :
    Age limit : 21 to 30 years on 01/07/2011.

    Education qualification : At least one bachelor degree with at least one subject from mathematics,physics,chemistry,geology,statistics,z oology,bonaty or bachelor degree in agriculture,forestry in engineering etc.

    maximum 4 attemps.( 7 attemps for OBC and no limit for SC/ST)

    If you have only 20 years and study in 2nd year B.com,then you are not eligible for apply IAS.you should have to complete your 21 years and also graduation.then you can apply for IAS.after qualifying the IAS,you have to chance to become a IAS officer.
