    what is the age limit of women in IAS exam for general category

    Hi myself Pari I wanted to appear in IAS exam and I wanted to know that what is the age limit for women in this exam and what are the syllabus for prelims exam and when will be the exam in 2013

    Indian Administrative Services is the one of the Civil Services in the India which are offered through the Union Public Services commission in India,These Civil services are offered all over the India and the candidates can appear for these civil services examination after the completion of the under graduation or the bachelor degree course of study in any of the discipline of the study.

    The IAS/IPS comes under the civil services and the examination also takes place all over the India and the candidates can appear for the examination by satisfying some of the eligibility criteria and they are...
    >>Should have to be the citizen of India
    >>Should have completed the graduation or the bachelor degree course of study in any of the discipline of study.
    >>Should have attained the age of 21 years and should not exceed the age of 30 years for general categories students and it is same for both the men and women.
    Upper age limits are
    OBC-3 years
    SC/ST- 5 years
    PH -10 years
    These are some of the upper age limits which are available.
    >>Number of attempts are also fixed and some of them are....
    General- 4
    OBC-7
    SC/ST- no limit
    These are the eligibility criteria which are required........

    The selections will be done through the Preliminary examination and the short listed candidates in the Prelim's are selected for the written test and the selected candidates are called for the finale selection of the Interview.

    Age limits for IAS exams (for both male/female):
    Minimum age 21 years for All Category
    Maximum age for
    1. GENERAL CATEGORY - 30 years
    2. SHEDULED CASTES - 35 years
    3. SHEDULED TRIBES - 35 years
    4. BLIND, DEAF - MUTE AND ORTHOPAEDICALLY HANDICAPED PERSONS - 40 years

    IAS Prelims exam in 2013 :
    There are two paper in IAS prelims
    1. PAPER I (General Studies)
    2. PAPER II (General Aptitude)

    Syllabus of PAPER I (General Studies) is as follows:
    - Current events of national and international importance

    - History of India and Indian National Movement

    - Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.

    - Indian Polity and Governance Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

    - Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.

    - General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization

    - General Science.

    Syllabus for PAPER II (General Aptitude) is as follows:
    - Comprehension

    - Interpersonal skills including communication skills

    - Logical reasoning and analytical ability

    - Decision making and problem solving

    - General mental ability

    - Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level)

    - English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).
