    The eligibility for Police Sub Inspector exam is
    You must have completed your graduation (any field).
    You must be of age 35 years if you are in OBC category.
    or 38 years if you are a ST/SC/NT.
    or 28 years in case you belong to open category.

    --> I take PSI you have mentioned as Police Sub-inspector.

    --> Also, PSI recruitment is carried out by different State PSCs on their own and separately.

    --> For reference, i am giving the Maharastra Public Service Commission (MPSC) details.

    --> The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts exams for various range of Ranks of Officers within the State Services.

    --> MPSC mainly comprises of 3 classes of Ranks namely, Class I, Class II, and Class III.

    --> But, depending the exam, the eligibility criteria varies.

    --> Even though the eligibility varies, the number of times you can appear for any of the MPSC exams has no Limit.

    --> Which means that a candidate can appear as many times as he/she wants, as long as you satisfy the given age imits.

    --> Whatever be the exam, it has both prelims and main papers; that is, you should first pass the MPSC Prelims Exams & only after that you will be eligible to appear for the MPSC Main Exams.

    --> Various departments of the Govt. of Maharashtra also have separate MPSC exams for recruitments to posts in their departments.

    Eligibility Criteria of MPSC Class I and Class II Officers Exams

    Age Limits:-

    (a) OBC: 35 years
    (b) SC/ST/NT: 38 years
    (c) Open Category: 33 years

    Educational Qualification:

    One must be a graduate from any recognised college/university.

    Eligibility Criteria of MPSC PSI/STI/Assistant Exams

    Age Limits:

    (a) OBC: 35 years
    (b) SC/ST/NT: 38 years
    (c) Open Category: 33yrs / for PSI exams it is 28 yrs

    Educational Requirements:

    One must be a graduate from any recognised college/university.

    PSI stands for Police Sub Inspector exam.MPSC will hold the PSI exam.

    Eligibility for PSI exam:

    Nationality:Indian

    Education qualification
    :You have to pass your Graduation in any recognized university.Final students are also applicable for this exam.Those candidates should submit the proof of his degree qualification while applying for the main examination,if he selected for prelims.

    Age limit:Your age should not less than 19 years and not more than 28 years.
    For reserved category candidates should not more than 31 years.

    Number of attempts:
    There is no limit.

    For PSI Exam:-

    Qualification-- Candidates must complete their graduation from any recognized university.Candidates who have given the exam of final year of graduation can also apply for the PSI exam.

    Candidates can appear in the exam as much as they can because there is no limit for attempts.

    Age-- Age Limit for PSI exam is 19 to 28.Upper age limit for reserved category candidates are 31.

    dear ,
    you must have 28 years of age to qualify for the PSI EXAM,and to eligible for the main examinations you must have 19 years compleate and graduation of any discipline.you may have your degree from Indian or any deemed university. you can apply in the final year of degree course also if you have your degree certificate,

    PSI stands for POLICE SUB INSPECTOR Exams which is conducted by MPSC and the educational qualification and age criteria needed for the exam is given below.

    Eligibility Criteria of MPSC PSI/STI/Assistant Exams


    Age Criteria:

    1) OBC: 35 years
    2) SC/ST/NT: 38 years
    3) Open Category: 33yrs / for PSI exams it is 28 yrs

    Educational Qualifications: You must be a graduate from any recognized University.


    There are three stages in the PSI-STI-Assistant Exam and they are:
    • Preliminary Examination
    • Main Examination
    • Physical Test and Interview.

    Prelims Exam :

    This test is conducted for checking the General Ability of a student.The Syllabus is of 10th std Level Questions are in both in English and Marathi mediums and it contains multiple choice 150 Questions.

    The Exam Centre is at all district places in Maharashtra.If you are able to qualify the exam then you have to appear in the Main exams.

    Preliminary Examination consist of 150 Questions,300 Marks and Duration of the exam is 11/2 hours.

    Topics of General Studies:

    1)Indian and World Geography 20 Questions
    2)Arithmetic 20
    3)General Sciences 20
    4)History 20
    5)Social Reformers 20
    6)Indian Polity, Panchayat Raj and Economics 25
    7)Current Events 25

    Total =150

    Main Examination:

    This exam has multiple choice type of questions. Syllabus is of MPSC Civil Service Preliminary exam kind.The medium of the Question Paper is both English and Marathi medium.

    This exam is conducted at 4 places in Maharashtra:Mumbai,Pune , Aurangabad , Nagpur.

    Those who are able to clear the Main Examination are called for the Physical Test. after which is the Interview.

    Paper 1:Total 200 Marks

    Marathi 130 Marks
    English 70 Marks

    Total 200 Marks

    Topic wise Division of Marks

    Paper 2 : General Studies :Total 200 marks
    • Agriculture 25
    • Science and Engineering 25

    Physical Test:

    After the result of PSI Main Examination there is a Physical Test .
    • Pull-Ups 40 Marks
    • Long Jump 30 Marks

    • Running(800 mtrs.)[in 2.30 mins] 100 Marks

    Total 200 Marks

    Interview:
    Only those who score more than 100 marks qualify for the Interview.
    75 Marks for Interview

    The age limit for PSI eams is as follows:
    for OBC: 35 year
    for SC/ST: 38 year
    and for others it is 33year
    for PSI exas you must have graduation graduation degree for a recganised college.
    This exam has three stages and it is necessary to qualify each stage.
    Then you will be eligible for SPI.

    Eligibility Criteria :
    You must have done a graduation in any field from any recognized University.
    Main Examination is 19 years complete and Graduate of any disciplineOBC: 35 years
    SC/ST/NT: 38 years
    Open Category: 33yrs / for PSI exams it is 28 yrs


    In MAHARASHTRA it is conducted by MPSC and the important dates of this exam are:

    Police Sub Inspector (Direct) Examinations

    Notification will be released in February 2012
    Preliminary examination will be condcuted in month of April.
    Main exam wil be conducted in the month of July

    THE PROCESS OF SELECTION IS:

    PHYSICAL TEST
    PRELIMS EXAM
    MAINS EXAM
    INTERVIEW

    There is no limit for total number of attempts.
