    University Grant Commission Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (UGC-CSIR) Exam

    The Joint CSIR-UGC Test is carried out by the CSIR in order to establish the eligibility of candidates for the Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET award. This exam is also held for appointing Lecturers (NET) in particular subject areas that come under the Science department.

    Structure and pattern of the UGC-CSIR Exam

    The question paper of the UGC CSIR entrance exam will include topics like Earth Planetary Sciences & Atmospheric Ocean, Physical Sciences and Chemical Science. Subjects like Mathematical Sciences as well as Life Sciences will also be incorporated in the exam.

    Qualification Criteria for UGC-CSIR Exam

    Candidates who have a postgraduate degree in science are eligible to apply for this exam. They are required to have a minimum score of 55% in their final exams (50% percent for candidates of the SC/ST categories). It is also possible for candidates of the RA (Result Awaiting) category to apply for this exam, if they have appeared or are appearing for the final exams. It is required for these candidates to present the attestation format that is duly certified by the Principal of the institute. The candidates must be at least 19 years at the time of applying. The candidates should also not be above 28 years (age limit of 5 years is applicable for students of the reserved categories as well as female applicants).

    Application procedure of the UGC-CSIR Exam

    The candidates can apply for the CSIR UGC entrance exam by the online method. Candidates who wish to apply online must first pay the fee at the designated branches of the State Bank of India. Subsequent to this, the candidates can fill the form online. The formal website of the CSIR is - http://www.csirhrdg.res.in. The candidates must also take 3-5 copies of the form and retain it for further reference. Candidates who send numerous applications will be disqualified. The detailed information regarding the instructions, syllabus of the exam, challan proforma as well as the model question papers could be viewed by the means of the authorized website. The candidates also must make sure that they send they register soon before the final date.
