there is a common written examination for the 19 public banks all over India while SBI conducts its own entrance exam.
The common exam is held by IBPS called as C.W.E.

As we all know there is no short cut for success so you have to work hard but as a tip i advise you to pay attention on previous year paper and try to find out pattern and prepare for that pattern of questions so you may succeed. You can also refer some good books like R.S. Agarwal etc.
