    Dear friend.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national level exam conducted jointly by the Indian institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science along with the MHRD, govt. of India.
The test is the main gate to the entry in to the post graduate courses in engineering and technology namely
    *M.tech
    *M.E.

The GATE scores are used in most of the top of the line universities to get admission in to the above said post graduate courses. The GATE scores are valid for 2 years from the date of issue of the score cards.

To be eligible for the exam you have to be either:
*a master degree holder in any discipline of science/maths/statistics
*a bachelor degree holder in any discipline of engineering/architecture

    Exam pattern:

The students who qualify the GATE exam not only get entry in to the top most institutes for their choice of the post gradaute course in engg but also get special scholarships amounts from the MHRD govt. of India.
