There is a common exam for both IAS and IPS
which is organised by UPSC every year.
This exam is known as Civil services exams.
There is one more service for which candidates
are recruited through civil services examination
    which is Indian forest services(IFS).
The first exam is CSAT, followed by mains and interview.
Most of the candidates choose IAS over IPS and IFS because
of the high prestige, salary, and benefits associated with IAS.
