    Dear friend,
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service is a civil service exam and conducted
by UPSC every year.If you are serving in Army as a solider or as a officer
you can't apply for IAS.You will not be permitted by High Authorities once you join
defense you will have to work with defense only .If you works for any organization
other then defense at that you can apply for IAS but while serving in Army you can't
    apply.
Eligibility criteria for IES are as follows:-
1]A candidate should have graduate in any discilpine from recognized university .
2]A candidate should have atleast 50%in graduation.
3]Age limit 21-30 years for open category.
4]Age limit for OBC 21-33 years.
    5]Age limit for SC/ST 21-35 years.
6]A candidate should be citizen of India.
    Thank you .

    Hii,

There is a rule that you cannot do anything apart from serving your country. You can go for the examinations but if you are selected and you wanted to be an IAS rather than continuing in INDIAN ARMY as an officer than you have to leave the INDIAN ARMY and you will also not get pension because at that you would have not completed your 15 years of service in INDIAN ARMY.

So choose one thing from these and prepare for that and believe in yourself if you work hard then you will surely get selected in your choice of field.

    GOOD LUCK.
