    Hi there!
    >>NET(National eligibility test) is conducted by the UGC for the following couple of cadres:
-One is the JRE(junior research fellowship) for which you should have a minimum marks 0f 55% percentage as an OBC candidate.
-The other cadre that is the lectireship cadre requires no mark criterion for any category yo belong.
    >>The JRE requires your age to be in between 21 and 27 years only.
    >>For the lectureshipr cadre your minimum age should be 21 years.
    >>There is no upper bound of age limit as far as the lectureship cadre is concerned.

    All the best

Re: Is there any relaxation of marks percentage for OBC candidates to apply for NET exam?

Yes there is a relaxation for UGC NET exam. But that is only in the case of age limitation,i.e, for Junior Research Fellowship exam is applicable to OBC candidates who are up till 33 years old. So you get a 5 years relaxation here. But for applying/ be eligible in NET you have to have minimum 55% marks in your exam. No relaxation is given there.

Even if you are in your final year of Master Degree or your final results are getting delayed due to some reason then also you can apply. So best of luck.

Re: Is there any relaxation of marks percentage for OBC candidates to apply for NET exam?

    dear friend

NET stands for national eligibility test.

----> it is conducted by UGC (university grants commission).

the various eligibility criteria for NET examinations are listed as below:

1.you must have done your post graduation from any recognised university in any stream.

2.your % of marks should not be less than 55 in post graduation.

----> special relaxation in marks is provided to SC/ST.

----> no,there is no relaxation provided to OBC candidates to apply for NET exam.

NET exam is conducted for two posts :

    1.JRF: junior research fellowship.

---> for this the upper age limit is 28 years.

2.for lectureship, there is no upper age limit.

hope the information is clear to you.

for further any queries and details please visit the official website: www.ugc.ac.in

all the best for your career.

Re: Is there any relaxation of marks percentage for OBC candidates to apply for NET exam?

    Hi friend,

Well, as we all know that The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination in India for postgraduate candidates who wish to qualify for admission in Ph.D research and/or university level teaching jobs in India. For the humanities and art discipline it is administered by the University Grants Commission (refereed as "UGC NET") while for the science and engineering discipline it is jointly conducted by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and University Grants Commission.

Well, I am very sorry to stat that there is no specific percentage relaxation to OBC , but yes there is relaxation to SC/ST, for OBC just some age relaxation is provided.

    Hope it Helps!!
