You can join NDA after passing 12th standard with arts stream.
NDA(National Defence Academy)conducted by UPSC twicw in a year.
Criteria for eligibility(NDA)is below:
Student must be 12th passed or any equivallent examination with a minimum of 60% marks.
The age limit is 16.5 to 19.5 years.

Criteria : 1. For 12th Passed student- age must be upto 19 years...
Technical Entry - Age must be upto 19 years.. PCM aggrt. percentage will be 75%.

2. For Graduate - Age not exceed above 25 years..Graduate with 55% marks and for B.Tech student 60% marks..

For these you have to appear in NDA entrance examination.the next NDA entrance examination will be on 19 th August 2012,to appear in this entrance examination you have to
Pass or appear in 10+2 in any stream.
Your date of birth should be between 2nd July 1994 to 1st January 1997.
You have to submit the online application form before 4 June 11.59 pm.
If you are selected you will be called for interview.

Yes friend, you are eligible for Some Posts in Indian Army being a student from Arts Stream.

Indian Army :

You are eligible for the Post of Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical (All Arms).

You must be 10+2/Intermediate exam pass in any stream(Arts,Commerce and Science) with 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% marks in each subject.

You should have studied and passed English and Maths/Accts/Book keeping in class 10 or 10+2 with 40% marks in each subject.

In case of graduates with maths and English as subject in BSc,the stipulation of 40% marks in class X or XII is waived off.

In case of graduate without English and maths/Accts/Book keeping, you should have more than 405 in English and maths/accts/book keeping at least once in class X or XII.

Age Limitations : Your age must be in between 17.5 - 23 years only.

Junior Commissioned Officer Catering(Army Service Corps) :

You should have 10+2 or equivalent exam and Diploma/Certificate course of a duration of one year or more in Cookery/Hotel Management and catering Tech from a recognized University/Food Craft Institute.
AICTE recognition is not mandatory.

Age Limitations : Your age must be in between21-27 Yrs

Being a student from Arts Background, you are only allowed for these Posts only.

Yeah Sure...after completing 12th standard in Arts stream you are eligible to join Indian Army. But sorry to say that you are ineligible to join Indian Navy.

You can join Indian Army by giving NDA entrance examination which is organized by UPSC twice in year as NDAI & NDAII.

NDA:- National Defence Academy.
UPSC:- Union Public Service Commission.


Eligibility for NDA(Indian Army):

You should have completed 12th standard in any stream from recognized university/board.

12th appearing/appeared students are also eligible to appear in this exam.

Your Age should be in between 16 to 19 years. No relaxation in Age.

You should be Unmarried , male & citizen of India.

Exam Pattern& syllabus for NDA written test:

There will be written Examination for total of 900 marks in two Subjects

1. Mathematics - Maximum marks is 300 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.
2. General Ability Test - Maximum marks is 600 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.

The papers in both the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

NDA stand for National Defence Service Exam.This exam is conduct twice time in a year.

The candidate must have a complete the 12th from a recognized university Or equivalent qualification are applicable for NDA exam.Science student are applicable for NDA all branch but Commerce and arts department are applicable for only Indian Army post.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th examination can also apply for the examination.
