    Dear friend,
    Yes my friend to appear for IMA you should have min. 50% marks in your graduation degree.

    To take admission in IMA after graduation you have to appear for CDS exam conducted by UPSC two times a year.


    After cracking CDSE exam you can be a army officer,can opt for air force officer(pilot),can be a navy officer,but this all depends on your choice ,which you need to be filled at the time of form filling.


    Eligibility for CDSE:
    1.You should be a Indian citizen.

    2.You should not be marrried.

    3.For army-any graduate degree(min.50%),for airforce and navy-graduation degree with maths and physics or engg. degree(min 60%).

    4.Your age should be between 19-24 yrs. for army(For IMA)19-25 for OTA,19-23 for air force.

    Procedure for CDS:

    1. Three written exams one is of maths,one is of english,one is of general awareness.
    You have to clear the exam


    2.After that you will be called for SSB,its a process of 5 days.

    3.Medical test for 5 days.

    4.Merit list

    Pattern of CDS exam is follows:

    There will be three objective question papers of 100 marks each.
    1.English.

    2.General Knowledge.

    3.Mathematics.

    Important Dates:

    As two exams held for CDS every year.

    Forms :August and March.

    Exam:February and August.

    This is not mandatory dates these are probable to change.

    CDS ( COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICE ) conducts a common exam for the entry into its 3 wings namely
    1. IMA - INDIAN MILITARY SERVICE - Dehradun
    2. AIR FORCE - Hyderabad
    3. NAVY - Goa
    4. OTA - Chennai


    Every year UPSC ( UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION ) conducts this exam twice in a year. It is considered as one of the toughest exam and the final entry is based on the selection procedure at the time of interview.

    Only Unmarried Male are allowed for the CDS IMA exam.

    Eligibility :

    Educational qualification :

    IMA & OTA : You must have completed your Degree in any stream from a recognized university or its affiliated college with minimum percentage of marks as 60%

    Age Criteria :

    IMA : Your age must not be earlier than 2 nd January 1984 and not later than 1 st January 1989.

    Nationality :

    You must be
    - an Indian
    - a subject of Nepal
    - a subject of Bhutan
    - a Tibetan refugee
    - Indian migrated to other country

    Yes, minimum of 50% marks is required in the graduation for IMA

    The other criteria are:
    1.You should be a Indian citizen.
    2.You should not be marrried.

    Hello friend ,

    You can apply for IMA if you full fill basic eligibility criteria for IMA . You have appear for CDS Exam for IMA after graduation , You have to be graduate pass to become eligible for IMA .

    Eligibility for IMA Course
    • You must have degree from any recognized university or equivalent.
    • If you have appeared for final year examination and waiting for result are also eligible.
    Age criteria
    • Student must have age between 21 years to 25 years .

    Important Dates CDS Exam
    • Forms will be declared in month of August /March.
    • Exam is conducted in month of February / August.


    Pattern CDS exam

    CDS exam consist of three objective question paper of 100 marks each paper .
    • English.
    • General Knowledge.
    • Mathematics.

    C.D.S stands for Combined Defence Academy Examination and it was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

    The examination was conducted two times in a year and the examination likes C.D.S I and C.D.S II.

    To apply for the Indian Military Academy,the candidate need to complete graduation from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

    Hello Friend,

    To Apply For IMA you need to give the entrance of CDS (Combined Defence Service).The CDs exam will be conducted by the UPSC (central government) twice a year.

    Required Eligibility To Apply For IMA:

    1) A Citizen of India, or

    2) A subject of Bhutan, or

    3) A subject of Nepal, or

    4) A Tibetan who settled in India Before 1962 January 1.

    Age Limits:

    Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st 1st January, 1993 only are eligible.

    Educational Qualifications :

    For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy, The candidate should have Degree from recognised University or equivalent to that.

    If you are Interested to apply for IMA (Indian Military Academy) then for this you have to apply for the CDS Examination conducted by the UPSC Every year Two times - CDS (I) and CDS (II).

    To apply for IMA you need to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognized university, final year graduate candidates are also apply for CDS Examination to enter into IMA.

    There is no minimum percentage is required to apply for CDS Examination, any graduate passed candidates are eligible for CDS Examination.

    For this year CDS Examination was already completed, So if your age should between 19 to 24 years, then please apply for next year CDS (I) Examination. The Notification of CDS (I) 2012 Examination was going to be declared on 29/OCT/2011, And the last date of apply for CDS Examination was 28/11/2011.

    The examination was going to be held on 12/Feb/2012.

    So, Please wait for the notification and then apply for this examination online or offline.

    >> The offline application form can be obtained form the designated post offices in India, but its better to apply for this examination online by visit the UPSC website.

    So, for IMA Only Unmarried male candidates between 19-24 years of age are eligible and you must be physically fit according to the Regulations specified in the UPSC Notification for Examination published in Employment News OR in the Notification.

    The meaning of IMA is "Indian Military Academy".The Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (also known as IMA) is the officer training school of the Indian Army.

    m in final yr b.sc. i scord only 44% in 2 yrs ,dis is my 3rd yr .& my dob 08 april,1989. m i eligible for ima .& how many chances lft 4 me...??????????????? m sur dat dis yr m going 2 gt 1st divisn in grduasn.
