yes you can appear second time. but maximum age limit is 28 years for general category.some age relaxation is givento st/sc/obc candidates. if you were involved in research then time spent during research will be provided to you as age relaxation.remember that ugc conduct net exam to ensure the minimum standard in education system in india.below that standard a candidate will not be allowed to work as a prof/lecturer in any university or college.if you are opting for lectureship then there is not any limitation on number of attempt to appear in net exam.

No, There is no limitations to apply for NET/SET Examination. You can apply for these examination many times. The examination is conducted twice in a year and to apply for NET/SET Examination, you have to complete your Post graduate degree course with minimum 55% Marks, Final year appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for NET/SET Examination.

For this year NET Examination notification was already Published and the last date of apply for the examination was already over. If you have missed the chance then please apply for December NET Examination, The Notification of December NET Examination will be Published soon in the official website in the month of October.

Eligible candidates may fill the application form online only and have to pay the fees through challan form in SBI bank for NET.

There is no age restriction to apply for Lectureship post, But for Junior Research fellowship post, your age should not be more than 28 years. Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

You must have attained the age of 19 years to apply for NET/SET Examination.

You have to choose the subjects in NET/SET Examination as per your post graduation only. The list of subjects is available in the official website. You can download the previous year papers and syllabus directly from the official website.

From this year, all 3 papers of NET will be Objective, No descriptive paper in NET Examination and No Negative marking in the examination. So please prepared well for this examination as per the pattern and syllabus.

NET Exam Pattern:

~~ Paper I : 60 out of which 50 questions are to be attempted : 50x2 = 100 --------1¼ Hours (09.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.)

~~ Paper II : 50 questions all of which are compulsory : 50x2 = 100 ---------1¼ Hours (10.45 a.m. to 12.00 Noon.)

~~ Paper III : 75 questions all of which are compulsory : 75x2 = 150 ----------2½ Hours (01.30 p.m. to 04.00 p.m.)

So, please prepared well for NET Examination as per the pattern and syllabus, Only then you will get success in this examination.

You can apply for NET Lectureship Post Many times, there is no restriction to apply for NET/SET Examination in Number of Attempts. For more information please check official website:

You can apply till your age 21 to 28 years.After this you cannot apply for this exam.
You should score 55% in your PG courses.
This exam is held twice in year in the month of june and december.
The purpose of exam is to select qualified peolpe for the post of lecturer and junior research fellowship.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS TO APPLY FOR NET OR SLET EXAM:-

1.CANDIDATES WANTING TO APPEAR FOR THE EXAM SHOULD HAVE PASSED OUT THE MASTERS DEGREE WITH ATLEAST 55% MARKS OR AN EQUIVALENT DEGREE FROM A RECOGNISED INSTITUTION BY THE UGC WITH THEIR SUBJECTS AS HUMANITIES SOCIAL SCIENCE ,COMPUTER SCIENCES ETC ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE EXAM.

2.FOR SC/ST CANDIDATES THE PERCENTAGE IS 55% IN THE MASTERS OR EQUIVALENT DEGREE FROM A UNIVERSITY RECOGNISED BY THE UGC.

3.CANDIDATES IN THE FINAL YEAR OF THE MASTERS DEGREE OR THE CANDIDATES AWAITING FOR THE RESULTS OF THEIR MASTERS DEGREE MAY ALSO APPEAR FOR THE EXAM.

4.PHD DEGREE HOLDERS WHOSE MASTERS LEVEL OF EXAMINATION IS COMPLETED ARE ELIGIBILE TO APPLY FOR THE EXAM WITH A RELAXATION OF 5% IN THE AGGREGATE MARKS(i e 50%)

5.CANDIDATES ARE TO APPEAR IN THE SUBJECT OF THEIR POST GRADUATION AR IN THEIR RELATED SUBJECT.

6.THERE IS NO LIMIT TO APPLY FOR THE EXAM YOU CAN APPLY FOR IT AS MANY TIMES YOU WANT AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT CROSS THE AGE OF28 YEARS.
