There are no drawbacks for the students for applying for the Civil service examination who have done their graduation through correspondence course. The main eligibility criterion for attending the Civil service exam is a graduation in any discipline. You should have taken the graduation from a recognized and reputed university. The age limit for attending this exam is about 21 years. The maximum age is 30 years but there will be relaxations in case of the reserved categories also. Hence you can apply for civil service exam even if you have done your graduation as a correspondence course. But you should fulfill all the above mentioned criteria’s.

    Hi
i think most of the time its become a drawback for cracking the interviews because-
1= mostly interviewer think that degree form regular course provide the depth knowledge to applicants.
2= regular degree is more important than distance learning
3= many of the jobs description demanded full time regular course
4= Its create the chance for interviewer to ask many questions at the time of interview.
5= Lacking of practical knowledge and skill
Lots of lacking can be arises or not its depend upon the interviewer but if you give your best so its does not matter .

Good luck and dont think its a big barrier in your life be cool and calm and go forward

    Thanks
