Yes my dear friend you can write iit-jee even if you are in first year::but the maximum gap allowed is of only one year::i.e you can seat for iit-jee only twice once at the time of your higher secondary examination and next year::so if you have your higher secondary in 2011 then you can seat for iit 2011 and iit 2012::best of luck:

Yes , you can appear in IIT JEE.
You need to have your Qualifying Exam certificates with you . As you have already joined B.Tech, as per my knowledge you don't have those certificates with you.

You need to consult your college authorities regarding this. Some don't give the certificates and ask you to complete the course. However , some people give your certificates back , if you are ready to pay the entire four years fees.

My personal suggestion , don't make all these mess. Because after taking your certificates , if you don't qualify for IIT then you will be losing your precious time. Complete your B.Tech , if you are much interested in IIT's then join M.Tech in IIT and make your dream fulfilled.

Think about it and make a wise decision.

    Hi

Engineering is a branch of Science, which deals with technology. It is basically of 6 types :

Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.

Now IIT - Indian Institute of Technologies are the best colleges for such courses. About 13 IIT's function in our country.

The IIT conducts a JEE every year to select candidates for the B.Tech courses. Its the toughest undergraduate examination. So most people cannot get through.
However it allows two attempts to a candidate, so one after your boards, and the second attempt the following year.

So suppose, you have failed the first time, and then you take up engineering in any other college. Then also there is score, that within you are in first year, the next attempt is always open for you.

So yeah sure you can appear in the IIT JEE while pursuing 1st year.

    All the best.

Yes, there is a chance for you to appear for IIT JEE as a studnet in B.Tech first year but for that you need to be a fresher in college i.e you should have no gap between 12th and engineering as the chances are limited to 2 for IITJEE , so if you have already appeared for it twice or skipped a year and then joined college then you wont be able to do it. But if not then you can always go for that. so best of luck!!

    Helo,
You can give IIT JEE exam in first year of engineering.
Any student have only two chance to sit in IIT JEE exam.
First in appearing and second next year.
You have given your first chance but you have a last chance to give IIT JEE exam.
You have also good state level colleges so,you can giv also these exam.
you have also private colleges which are better in placement.
