Re: Is there any chance to appear in IES entrance after B.Sc(IT)?

The candidates from Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) backgrounds are not eligible for IES (Indian Engineering Services) under UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) exams. The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) exams for IES has the following eligibility criteria : A candidate should be a pass out of or in the final year of Engineering from AICTE approved institutions. Computer science/IT students are not eligible. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. And the number of attempts for this exam are 4 (For Gen), 7 (For OBC) and no limit (FOR SC/ST). But you can appear for Indian Administrative Services (IAS) under UPSC. You cannot appear for IAS exams while in the 2nd year of B.Sc. You will have to wait for one year until you reach your final year of graduation degree course. Once you have completed your graduation or when you are in the final year of your course, you are eligible for the UPSC exams for IAS, IPS, IFS, etc. You will have to pass a 3-phase exam. First is the aptitude test. Second id the main exam which will include subjects from comprehensive English, statistics, mathematics, psychology, geography, history, etc. And after the main exam, you will have to appear for a personal interview. this is the procedure for UPSC exams.
    all the best!!

The streams are electronics and communication(ece), electrical and electronics(eee), mechanical and civil. Age limit is 21 to 30years. So, after completing b.sc you are not eligible . UPSC IES holds an eligibility criterion which clearly mentions that the candidature should be with an engineer's background.
This may be a bachelor's degree or a diploma but not B.Sc in IT.
Sorry, but there are many other career paths that you can opt for after your Bachelors of Science in IT.
Dont lose heart because you might have something better in store for you and do revert back to us for any further queries.
