Re: Is TET compulsory for NET?

    Hello Friend !!

No, TET is not necessary to give the NET Examination.

    TET -- Teacher Eligibility Test.

Remember TET is a compulsory test for any B.Ed or D.Ed certificate holders.

The Indian Govt is framing rules that for getting into Teaching field one should have a TET Qualification.

TET is conducted state wide, where as NET and CTET are conducted National Wide.

NET -- National Eligibility Test .

This is an Entrance Examination conducted for only those who are Post Graduates and who are interested in Teaching Field.

With NET Qualification one can easily get a Job as a Lecturer instead of Teacher in any Private or Govt Institutes.

There is a high demand for NET Qualified Students in the field of Teaching.

Also the Salaries offered to them are more than the Salaries given to Software Engineers.

    Exam Pattern :

The NET Exam will consist of three papers.

The First Paper will be on the General awareness, Logical Reasoning, Different and divergent Thinking and Reading Comprehension.

It consists of 50 multiple choice questions.

The duration of this test is 75 minutes.

The Second Paper consists of short answer questions.

It will be based on the subject chosen by yourself while applying for it.

The duration of this test is again 75 minutes.

Both these test will be held continuously.

In the afternoon we have the Third Paper.

    The duration is 150 minutes.

    It is a descriptive paper.

You have to answer the questions in the booklet provided with the questions.

This paper will be held under evaluation only for those, who are qualified in both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

You can apply Online for NET on :

    www.ugc.ac.in

    All the Best !!
