Dear friend, if you wish to join merchant navy, you must go for NDA exam that is conducted by UPSC twice a year. You must be 16.5 - 19 years of age. And you must pass your +2 from a recognized university with PCM as main subjects. Since you have scored a total of 80% in your +2 that means you can score good marks in NDA and you can be qualified. You will be called for an interview and you must be physically fit certified by a medical board.

Merchant Navy Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility for joining merchant navy is class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Admission is through entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination.

unmarried Indian citizens (male or female). After clearing the test, there is an interview and a medical test. Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.

After 12th or after graduation you can join Indian Navy.As you are a diploma graduate then you are also very much eligible for Indian Navy.See you have to take information from different newspapers and websites when the vacancies of Navy will come and according to this you can apply.
You can also apply for NDA. There generally two examination are held for NDA, one is NDA-1 and another is NDA-2.You can also attempt both this two exam.
