    Hello

    IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Service

    IAS is conducted by UPSC every year. And this will be done in 3stages namely
    • Prelims
    • Mains and
    • Interview

    Every time a tough competition will be done in UPSC for various posts like IAS,IPS,IFS etc.

    Eligibility for IAS :

    You must complete your Graduation Degree(No restriction in Min.Percent)
    You must be a citizen of India.
    Age limits:
    - You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
    The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
    upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
    upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)

    Attempts :
    If you belong to the “Open Category” you can give the exam 4 times maximum!
    If you belong to the “OBC” you can give the exam 7 times.
    If you belong to the “SC/ST” you can give the exam as many times as you want. There is no restriction on the number of times!

    The “Preliminary Examination” is usually held in May / June and the “Main Examination” in October / November of the same year.

    Optional subjects in IAS :



    You can't choose the following combination of subjects:

    (a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
    (b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
    (c) Anthropology and Sociology;
    (d) Mathematics and Statistics;
    (e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
    (f) Management and Public Administration;
    (g) Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering–not more than one subject.
    (h) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.

    If you want to become I.A.S officer then you have to pass the graduation in any stream you want from the recognized university.

    I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.
    Eligibility criteria:-
    >pass the graduation from recognized university.
    > Age limit:-
    For open category:-21-30year
    For OBC category :- 21-33year
    For ST/SC category:-21-37 year
    > Number of attempts:-
    For open category:- 4
    For ST/SC category:-7
    > Must be citizen of India.

    The age limit for IAS examination is 21-30 years. You have to complete graduation from a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Botany, Geology, Physics, Zoology, Statistics, Mathematics, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, and Chemistry. Or else, you should have completed you Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Agriculture, or in Engineering. The examination has three stages – Preliminary, Main, and Interview. Only those who are selected in the preliminary are eligible to appear for the main exam. The optional subjects in the preliminary exam are Agriculture, Economics, Geology, Mechanical Engineering, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Indian History, Medical Science, Political Science, Psychology, Law Mathematics, Commerce, Botany, Philosophy, Physics, Public Administration, Statistics, Zoology, Sociology and Geography.

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service
