IES Stands for Indian Engineering Services
PCS Stands for Punjab Civil Services.

IAS and IES Examination, Both are conducted by UPSC Every year. To apply for These examination you have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised University.

For IES, You have to complete your Engineering Graduate degree course from a recognised Board, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for IES Examination, So If you have completed your Engineering course form these disciplines, then you are eligible for IES Examination :

After completing you graduation you are eligible for I.A.S, P.C.S. But you are not eligible for I.E.S because it is for engineering course student.

I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

The next PCS exam will be held in the last week of June 2012. The last date to submit the application form will be in last week of March 2012. The next IAS exam will be held on 20th May 2012. If you are planning to opt for IAS then the Eligibility criteria for appearing is:
