    Tell the details about IES? Which engineering branches are eligible to write IES exam?

    Sir,
    I want to know the details about the IES. Which branches are able to write IES Exam in B.TECH (i.e after B.TECH)

    IES exam is meant especially for candidates who have completed their B.Tech degree. The qualification must be obtained in civil engineering or electrical engineering. The candidate who has completed their graduation in mechanical or electronics engineering can also apply. The exam is carried out by UPSC. Those candidates with in the age group of 21-30 years are eligible. The written exam includes 5 papers. The total marks awarded for the test is 200. Those who pass the written exam have to go through a personality test in order to get selected.

    hi,

    I.E.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.
    Eligibility criteria:-
    >pass the B.TECH from recognized university with minimum 50% marks.
    > Age limit:-
    For open category:-21-30year
    For OBC category :- 21-33year
    For ST/SC category:-21-37 year
    > Must be citizen of India.

    Indian Engineering Service exam is conducted by upsc every year once.This exam is conducted to intake qualified engineers for Government sector in different departments.

    Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Service exam:
    Education qualification:
    You should minimum graduation degree in Engineering from any one branch mentioned below
    >>Mechanical Engineering
    >>Civil Engineering
    >>Electrical Engineering
    >>Electronic and Communication Engineering
    Age limit:
    Age should be between 21 to 30 years.
    Age relaxation for SC/ST/PD and government job holder category is 5 years.

    If you fulfill with above mentioned criteria,then you can appear for this year IES exam.

    Important date for IES-2012 Exam:
    Indian Engineering Service exam notification for this year:
    Issue of application form from 25th Feb 2012 to 24th March 2012.
    Exam will held on 15th June 2012.

    Civil Engineering

    Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

    Electrical Engineering

    Mechanical Engineering



    one paper is common for all Branches that is general Ability .

    General ability consist of Following Topics:


    1. General English
    2. General Studies




    Examination Pattern (ALL BRANCHES)

    -->Indian Engineering Service(IES) Exams are conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) Every year.

    Eligibility Criteria :-

    -->You Should be a BE/B.tech With Following Branches :-

    • Civil Engineering
    • Electronics and Communication Engineering
    • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering

    Age Limit :-

    -->For Open Category,21 to 30years.

    -->For BC Category,21 to 33years.

    -->For Sc/st Category,21 to 35years.

    IES exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year.

    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

    1.Civil Engineering
    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

    Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

    Number of attempts for IES exam is

    For general student it is 4.

    And for OBC it is 7 times.

    And for SC/ST it is 9 time

    You are from ECE department so you are eligible for IES exam.

    Hi,

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Service and the exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) . The Notifications about the exams are given in the employment newspapers or it is updated in the website.

    Eligibility Criteria to appear for the examinations:

    You must be a graduate in Engineering/Technology from recognized university with any one of the following disciplines.
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
    • Civil Engineering

    You must be 21 years during the time of exams and must not be more than 30 years.
    You must be a citizen of India.
    Upper age Relaxations applicable for SC/ST(35 years) and OBC(33 years) categories.

    Attempts:
    • General Category Candidates ca Attempt 4 times.
    • OBC Candidates 7 times.
    • SC/ST Candidates do not have any limits.

    Syllabus:

    The Exam is divided into two sections:
    Conventional Paper
    Subjective paper

    The Objective paper carries 600 Marks and the subjective carries 400 marks. So the total weight age is 1000 marks.





    As of 2012 the Important dates are:

    Notifications about the exams: 25th February 2012

    Last date to apply for the exam: 26th February 2012

    Dates of Exams: 15th June 2012- 17th June 2012
