Re: Tell the complete details about IBPS?

Basically IBPS(Indian Banking Personnel Selection) is a body which is responsible for conducting exams and for
the execution of all other activities relating to selection of banking personnel in the nationalized banks of India.
In other words this is a organization that is responsible for selection and training of banking personnel in all the
nationalized banks of India except State Bank of India which conducts a separate examination for selection of
its banking personnel.Earlier there used to be separate exams conducted for each and every bank and the students
need to appear for them separately. But with the establishment of this body, the students need to appear
only for the Common Banking exams and there after they can appear for interviews of all other banks.

Re: Tell the complete details about IBPS?

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. From the last academic year IBPS started conducting common written exam for the recruitment of
    -PO positions
    -clerical position
    -IT officers
    for 19 public sector banks.

The IBPS PO Exam and IBPS Clerical Exam were already conducted.

The selection procedure for both these positions is by
    -Written Test
    -Interview

Previously, every bank will conduct its own written exam and then Interview for the candidates in the ratio of 1:3 out of the candidates who have qualified in the written exam.

But now the scenario has changed. Once if a person qualify in IBPS PO Exam, by using the score card, he will be eligible to attend for the Interview of any public sector bank if his score in IBPS is more than the cut off mentioned by the particular public sector bank as a part of eligibility for the Interview.

For OC candidates the cut off is very high. Let me have an example for this.

Recently Union Bank has invited the candidates to the Interview. Union Bank has put the cut off marks of more than 160 for the candidates of OC category to attend for Interview.

But for SC candidates, the cut off is less.

The IBPS score card is valid for a period of 1 year.

SBI ans SBI Associate Banks have not joined hands with IBPS. They conduct their own selection procedure for the recruitment of these positions.

If you are interested to apply for IBPS Exams, have good preparation for the same from a good coaching institute and crack it.
