    Dear Friend,

    The All India Bar Examination will test skills and basic knowledge critical for a new

    entrant to the practice of the profession of law. It is intended to check for eligibility,

    rather than expertise.Any law student graduating in Academic Year 2009-10

    onwardswould have to appear for the All India Bar Examination (after enrolment as an

    advocate) in order to practice law in India.

    SYLLABUS:

    Twenty subjects from amongst those prescribed by the BCI for the
    syllabi of three- and five-year Ll.B. programmes

    Subjects tested in bar examinations conducted in jurisdictions across
    the world

    Category I Subjects: ‘Foundational’ in nature
    Category II Subjects: Also critical for a new entrant to the practice
    of the profession of law

    Will be conducted in nine languages,
    (English, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, and Oriya.)
    and at twenty-seven examination centres across India;

    Application Fee of Rs.1,300/- (includes price of receiving preparatorymaterials)

    ‘Open-book’ format: advocates may bring preparatory materials,
    books, handwritten notes into the examination hall

    A hundred multiple-choice questions, to be marked on OMR answer
    sheets; Focus is on reasoning ability, rather than ability to memorise
    large texts
    No percentage or ranks - advocates will merely pass or fail the All
    India Bar Examination

    Bar Council of India conducts All India Bar Examination.
    This exam is held twice a year.
    Advocates have to clear this examination in order to be able to practice law.
    One may appear for the examination any number of times and once passed,Certificate of Practice is awarded to the advocate.

    The All India Bar council Examination is conducted to test skills and basic knowledge critical for a Fresh candidate in order for him to practice the profession of law. It is intended to check for eligibility, rather than expertise.



    Student graduating from the Academic Year 2009-10 on wards would have to appear for the All India Bar Examination (after enrollment as an advocate) in order to practice law in India.

    SYLLABUS:

    From the Twenty subjects only prescribed subjects by the BCI is set as the syllabus of three-year and five-year Ll.B. program.

    There are two Types of subjects among those

    Type I Subjects: Basics of Foundational in nature
    Type II Subjects: critical for a Fresh candidate for the practice of the profession of law

    Application Fee is for taking the examination is stated at Rs.1,300/- which also includes the price of receiving preparatory materials for the examination

    Examination Details :
