Tax Assistant Exam (TAE)

Staff Selection Commission conducts an entrance exam for recruiting eligible candidates for the post of Tax Assistants in Income Tax and Central Excise Tax Department. The duty of Tax Assistants is to make sure that employees working under different departments follow the guidelines during their work. This is a highly prestigious Government job and the exam is highly competitive.

Structure and Pattern of Tax Assistant Exam (TAE)

The Tax Assistant Exam is conducted as two parts. Part 1 has two sections. The first part is a two hours exam includes 100 questions from General English and General Awareness. The candidate who passes the first section can only appear for the second section. The second section is a two hours section which has100 arithmetic questions. The candidates who clear the first part is only qualified for attending Part 2 of the exam. The second part is a test to evaluate the computer typing speed of the candidate.

Qualification Criteria for Tax Assistant Exam (TAE)

The candidate should have certain requirements for attending the exam. The candidates who have a degree in any discipline from a recognised University are eligible for attending the exam. The age limit of the candidates for attending the exam must be between 21 and 27. The age relaxations are there for certain categories according to the Government rule.

Application Procedure of Tax Assistant Exam (TAE)

There are different options for the candidates for applying for the exam. The printed application form will appear in the Employment News and other leading Newspapers. The candidate can use that form. The application form can be purchased from the regional centers. The exam fee is Rs.100/- and it should be paid as Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) from any post office. The candidates can use the downloaded application from the official website of Staff Selection Commission as well. The filled in form should be forwarded to the concerned address.
