The qualification for appearing the exam is that, the candidate must be a graduate in engineering or M.Sc in related subjects. Also the age limit is 28 years. The exam consists two sections of question paper of total 3 hour duration. The first section includes 100 questions. This section is for testing the knowledge of candidates in the academic subjects as in engineering stream or science subjects. The next section includes 50 questions. This is for testing the quantitative skills, analytical skills and also the general awareness of the candidates. The syllabus for chemistry consists of subjects like heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid mechanics, chemical technology, etc. For previous question paper and more details you can log on to the website of drdo.

The pattern of the SET DRDO exam will be of objective type. It consists of 2 parts. In the first part, there will be questions on the technical subjects of your post graduation. Since you have studies M.Sc. Chemistry, you can expect questions on Chemical kinetics, non-isothermal reactors, diffusion effects in catalysis and so on. The second part questions will be on quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning. There will also be common awareness and current affairs questions. The first part will be for 100 marks and the second part will be for 50 marks. The test may last for a time period of 3 hours. You can procure former years question papers from various sources for reference.

syllabus of exam is based on the standard of essential qualification you applied for the post. written exam will be in hindi or english.
written exam consistes of:-
75 questions on General awareness, intelligence and reasoning
25 on general english
50 on hindi or english language

above three main subject based on graduation syllabus in any regonised university (UpSC).

DRDO - Defence Research and Development Organisation

For writing the exam the candidate must be eligible and the requirements needed are:

Eligibility:

1. The candidate must have a bachelor degree Engineering or Technology in Electronics & Communication Engg / Mechanical Engg / Computer Science & Engg/ Chemical Engg/ Electrical Engg from a recognized University.
2. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
3. For SC/ST candidates 5 years
4. For OBC candidates 3 years.
5. For PH candidates 5 years
6. For Ex-serviceman, services rendered in the armed forces are given 3 given extra from the prescribed limits.
7. The candidates who are writing their final degree exam are also eligible to apply for the exam.

The exam will be a objective type paper and the paper will have 2 sections namely section A and section B.In section A there will be 100 questions.For every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted.In section B there will be 50 questions and it will be on Applied Research & Development.For every answer you will be awarded 2 points and for every wrong answer 1/2 points will be deducted.

DRDO SET exam consists of written test of 3 hrs.There are two sections in the paper.
