    Friend,

SUPER COMPUTER Means High Performance Computer.

A supercomputer is a computer at the frontline of current processing capacity, particularly speed of calculation.

As of June 2012, IBM Sequoia is the fastest in the world.
IBM Sequoia Capable of running 16,000 trillion calculations per second. Sequoia will be used primarily for nuclear weapons simulation

    Details of Sequoia -

    Country - United States
    Power - 7.9 MW
    Space - 3,000 square feet (280 m2)
    Memory - 1.6 PB
    Speed - 16.32 PFLOPS

    good luck............

    Hi buddy

Supercomputers are the machines which operate at lighting speed and are able to handle multitasks.

They are generally used for solving large equations and for calculations.

They are as huge as our room.

The worlds fastest supercomputer for the year 2012 is IBM Sequoia.

Sequoia is of the Blue Gene/Q design, building off previous Blue Gene designs. It consists of 98,304 compute nodes containing 1,572,864 processor cores and 1.6 PB memory in 96 racks covering an area of about 3,000 square feet (280 m2). The processors are 16- or 8-core Power Architecture processors built on a 45 nm fabrication process.

The complete system will draw about 6 MW of power but is projected to have an unprecedented efficiency in performance per watt. The Sequoia design will perform 3000 Mflops/watt, about 7 times as efficient as the Blue Gene/P design it is replacing, and more than 3 times as efficient as a prior (June 2011) Top 500 leader.
