    hello,you can choose any stream in the +12 .but you must be start the regular prepration in the +12 .IPS so tough .youmust be physical fit for this exam.
    you must be more general knowledge and current affairs.

    IPS EXAM conducted by UPSC .

    eligibility for IPS EXAM:
    must be graduate with any recognized university.
    age 21 to 30 years.
    must be indian.

    EXAM DATE:-

    Notification Date - 04/02/2012
    Last date of application - 05/03/2012
    Preliminary examination - 20/05/2012.

    You can take any stream in degree to become a IPS. There's no restriction in choosing a stream.

    IPS stands for Indian Police Service and this exams are conducted by UPSC every year. You must have the following eligibility to write IPS exams.

    You must complete your Graduation Degree(No restriction in Min.Percent)

    Age limits:

    You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
    The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
    upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
    upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)

    Number of attempts:

    General candidates: four attempts.
    Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
    Other Backward Classes: seven attempts

    There are 3 stages you need to clear to get IPS.

    1.Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT)
    2.Main Exams
    3.Interview

    IPS exam pattern:



    Preliminary Examination would consist of two papers- Paper I and Paper II.

    Syllabus for CSAT as proposed by UPSC
    (Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs
    (Paper II) (200 marks) Duration : Two hrs
    The final interview is of 300 marks.

    You can Opt any Stream to become IPS Officer in future, because to become IPS Officer, you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination, this examination is Conducted by UPSC, Every year and to apply for this examination, you have to complete your Post graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognised University. Final year appearing candidates are also eligible for this examination. Civil Services Examination is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various services like the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, as well as Group A and Group B Central Services.

    ~~ If you have completed your Graduate degree course in any discipline then you are eligible for This examination

    ~~ No Minimum percentage is Required to appear for this examination

    ~~ Your age should between 21 to 30 years, upper age limit will be relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, by 3 years for candidates of OBC.

    So, you can complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognised university.

    The notification of this year Civil services examination was already published and the last date of apply for this examination 05/March/2012. Those who are Interested, please fill the application form soon before the last date.

    But, i have suggest you please prepare well for this examination as per the pattern and syllabus, only then you will get success in this examination, Candidates will gets only limited attempts to cracked this examination. You have to cracked this examination within the given attempts :

    Number of Attempts :
    ----------------------

    ~~ For General candidates : 4 Attempts
    ~~ For OBC Candidates : 7 Attempts
    ~~ For SC/ST : No Limits

    The selection will be based on Written Test and Personal Interview. But firstly you have to cracked the Preliminary examination and there are 2 papers in Preliminary examination and both are Objective. If you cracked Preliminary examination, only then you will be eligible to appear for Main examination, Main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the subjects in Main examination on the basis of your Graduation Only.

    Hello friend,
    you can choose any subjects in your 11th class because there is no any specialization or restriction to choose subject...and there is no use of 11th class percentage to becomeIAS officer...
    the eligibility to be IAS officer is to completed graduation in any subjects with minimum 55%...
    so you can choose any subjects in your 11th class...

    Eligibility Criteria :

    For Indian Police Service ,you must be citizen of India.

    Age limits :

    You must have attained the age of 21 Yrs and must not Attained the age of 30 Yrs on 1st August,2012.

    The Upper age limit will be Applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates.

    Upto a maximum Five Years for Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribes.

    Upto a Maximum three years for Other Backward Classes.


    Education Qualification :

    You must hold a Bachelor's degree of any Recognized University.

    If you are in the final year of a degree course can also Eligible.

    Number of Attempts :

    Four Attempts for Open.

    Seven Attempts for OBC category.

    No Limit for SC/ST.

    Physical Fitness Is very Important for IPS Exam.




    Male 165 Cm Pahari Male (General also) & ST (Not SC/OBC) - 160 Cm.

    Eligibility Criteria:The following are the Eligibility criteria details to Become a IPS Officer.
    1.Age limits: You should have completed 21 years on first august applying the That year.The maximum age limit is 30 years for general Students and 33 years for OBC candidates and 35 years for CS/ST candidates.
    2.Physical Standards:
    Height: The height of male candidates is 165 cms and height for female candidates is 150 cms
    Chest: The chest for Males is 84 cms and expanshion is 5 cms
    the chest for female candidates is 79 cms and expanshion is 5 cms
    Eye Sight: The eye sight for IPS Exam is 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
    6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
    Exam Pattern: There is a two exams are there.
    1.Preliminary Examination: It is objective type
    2.Main Examination:It includes written Examination and personal Interview
    Qualifications: The following are The Qualifications to become a IPS Officer.

    Hi,

    No there is no such specific subject you need to choose for giving the IPS exams.

    The IPS exams are Conducted by the UPSC board and the exams are conducted in two phases that is the Preliminary phase and the Main exams. The Notifications about the exams are given in the employment newspapers or it is updated in the UPSC website.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    >> You must be a citizen of India.

    Age Limits:
    >> Your Minimum age must be 21 years and maximum age must be 30 years.
    >> Age Relaxation For OBC is 3 years.
    >> Age Relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years.

    Educational Qualification:
    >> You must be a graduate from Recognized University .
    >> Even Final Year students can also apply for the exam.

    Attempts:
    >> General Category Candidates ca Attempt 4 times.
    >> OBC Candidates 7 times.

    Don't worry, to become an IPS officer you only need to complete your graduation with passing marks.
    You can opt any stream according to your choice.
    Only you need is a graduation degree with any discipline from a recognized university.

    To become a IPS Officer,you need to Appear the Civil Service Exam.

    To Apply for Civil Service Examination you must satisfy the eligibility criteria.

    ELIGIBILITY:-

    --The candidate should have a graduate degree from a Recognized university Or Equivalent Qualification.
    --Final year students can also apply.

    --The Age should between 21 - 30 yrs of age at the time of Appearing(general category).

    --For SC/ST - 35 years.
    --For OBC - 33 years.
    --For Ex-servicemen it is 5 years from the prescribed limits.

    Physical Standard :-

    The physical standard required for the IPS exam is given below:

    Height:
    Minimum height required for men is 165 cm
    Minimum height required for women is 150 cm
    There is a relaxation in height for SC/ST,OBC,Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc. candidates for men it is 160cm and for women it is 145 cm.

    EXAM PATTERN:-

    IPS Examination is conducted by UPSC Every year.

    The Examination consist of two parts : 1) Preliminary 2) Main

    Preliminary Examination consist of two papers.

    Both the papers of objective type and each paper consist of 200 marks.

    After completing preliminary Examination.you are qualify for Main Examination.

    Main Examination consist of nine papers and you must clear the all the of levels of Civil Service Examination.

    Number of attempts:-

    General candidates can attempts four times Only.
    OBC candidates can attempts seven times Only.
    No limit for SC/ST candidates.

    To become an IPS officer you need to have completed your Graduation in any stream.

    IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

    This is include in the services which come under civil services.

    Civil service exams are conducted by UPSC.

    To appear for this exam`s you need to be a graduate from reconized university.

    Your age need to be between 21-30 years.

    General candidates have 4 attempts.

    OBC candidates have 7 attempts.

    SC/ST candidates hae no limit.

    So there is no Stream criteria to become IPS officer you just need to qualify your Graduation and then your eligible to appear for the civil service exam.

    dear you may have any degree from the recognized university to go for IPS, as we know IPS (Indian police service ) this exam is related to government and you need to deal more with commerce and general knowledge questions .
    so dear better to go for ENGINEERING OR COMMERCE IKE
    B.COM,
    BCA,
    BA,ETC...
    IPS( Indian police service) is a prestigious one,you have to clear the UPSC examination to join in this great organization.
    eligibility for the IPS
    age requirement
    your age must be 21 years of age on 1st of august.
    you must have 21-30 years of age to be qualified,
    if you are belong to sc/st category than you must have 35 years of age limit.for ex serviceman 5 more years of age relaxation is given.

    Here is the complete selection procedure which a you should crack to become an IPS officer.

    -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
    -Civil Services Main Examination
    -Interview

    Here is the required eligibility criteria for this exam.

    Academic Qualification :
    -You should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.
    -If you are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible for this exam but you should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

    Age criteria :
    -You should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam.

    Well, Stream never matters when trying to become an IPS officier, since you only need a Graduation degree for being eligible for it.

    Eligibility for Civil services examination :

    >> You must have passed Graduation from any university

    >> Your minimum age be 21 and maximum age be 30(Special relaxations allowed)

    >> You must a citizen of India

    >> You only have 4 chances(special relaxations allowed).

    So, best of luck and I want to see you as an IPS officier
