Re: Which stream should I opt after 10th if I want to become an IAS officer in future?

There is no definite stream in 12th grade that you need to pursue to reach your goal as an IAS officer. You can choose any branch in 12th. Branches that could favour you the most to attain this goal would be humanities stream or the commerce stream. This would put light on certain topics that would be needed for your preparation for the IAS exam. A paper like Political science which is not available in the science stream is available in the Humanities stream. It is one of the key areas that require intense preparation before the entrance exam and also for the interview procedure. It would be also a good choice or you to start preparing for the IAS entrance exam from the 12th grade itself.

There is no such particular stream which you should opt for in order to become an IAS(Indian Administrative services) officer
after just completing your 10th standard. At this point of time, you should concentrate on your studies of higher secondary.
At this point of time, you would be required to select a stream. You should a stream depending on your interests and aspirations.
You should try to score a good percentage in your higher secondary as this would greatly help you in future.
After completing your higher secondary, you would be required to select a course for pursuing graduation.
And in the final year of graduation, you can start preparing for Civil services exam after which you would be eligible to
    appear for the same.

Indian Administrative services (IAS) are the civil services is good for those candidates who desire to take risk and want to show the unity of our country.IAS exam is held every year by UPSC, where number of applicants apply for IAS exam but only few get qualified.
IAS exam is conducted on the following basis:-
    >CSAT
    >Written test
    >Interview

Candidates have to pass all above three tests. If however any candidate failed in first test then he/she will not allowed to give next test and if any candidate failed in interview round then he/she can not become an IAS officer.
As to give IAS exam one must be graduate so as you are in 10th standard so no need to worry much from right now, first complete your 11th and 12th standard with good marks then choose any degree graduation of your choice after completing your graduation you can apply for IAS exam.
No matters what you had choose in 11th and 12th stream, graduation stream matters.

    ELIGIBILITY
    >You must be graduate from a UGC recognized university.
    >AGE LIMIT- 21-30 years of age.
