Re: Which stream should I choose for Graduation courses for IAS?

The basic eligibility for the IAS exam is a degree in a graduation from a reputed institute. You should between 21 to 30 years. However, there are age relaxations for SC/ST category. Only Indian Citizens are allowed to apply. There are lots many vocational courses are offered by many institutes. You can choose the program based on your interest. It is better to choose a subject which you are comfortable in. During the graduation course you must start preparation for this exam. The general awareness section is an area you can prepare in. Also you can be prepared for the CSAT section too during the initial days.

Re: Which stream should I choose for Graduation courses for IAS?

It is very good to have a dream like IAS. Since your aim is IAS you need to focus there and go for it. For to get any post in the civil service you need to clear the CSAT exam first. The basic eligibility for the exam is Bachelor degree in any discipline. So you better to go for the plus-two course in your interested stream. After the successful completion of the course you can pursue the graduation program. If you want to take the vocational course, there are so many technical courses available in India. After the completion of those courses your best option is to take the engineering course through lateral entry exam. You can also sit for the IAS exam after the engineering program, but this will consume more time to reach your goal.

    Dear,
I am happy that you are thinking of becoming an IAS officer as it is one of the reputed positions.
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.
The minimum requirement is that you must be a graduate and also to appear for civil services exam you need to clear CSAT examination.
Age limitation is between 21-30 years for general categories and 21-35 years for OBC/SC/ST candidates.
There are 4 attempts for general categories and 7 attempts for OBC/SC/ST candidates.
So , first complete your graduation and at the same time start preparing for the IAS examination.
    Thanks.

IAS is selected one among lakhs of students. U should analyse your basics and find out in which subject are u gud at...and which one u like studying the most. YOU can plan your further studies based on that. for example if u gud at maths. YOU can even try careers in statistics or engineering. IF you like language adnt you strong at it....u can take up literature. and also some foreign language.
The requorement of IAS is graduation. in any field From recognised institute. so by taking ur fav career u can make out spare time and prepare for the entrance exam.
special advise........start reading newspaper fron day one. not onli the headline.......but evaluate a habit og reading the whole thing. this will make u more confident to clear various test.

    Hey friend,

There is no mentioned specific stream for doing the IAS exam,as it is one of the civil service exam.It is not about the stream which you study but you must have a degree from a recognized university.

There will be 3 stages in this exam namely the Preliminary exam,Main exam and Interview. You must clear the Preliminary and the main exam to get a call for attending the interview.

The candidates must be a citizen of India and the candidates must have a age limit of 21-30 years and the main thing needed in the case of education qualification is a degree from a recognized university.

If you satisfy these criteria's then you will be eligible for the exam.

    Thank you.
