You can choose any stream after 12th class so as to become a collector. Graduation is the main qualification for this post. You can take up graduation in any discipline but it should be from a recognized institute. Minimum age necessary for IAS post is 21 years. Maximum age is 30 years. But you will get relaxation in this criteria if you belong to reserved categories. Also the selection process for this post will include 2 exams a preliminary and a main examination. Those who clear both these stages can attend personal interview.

    Dear Candidate,
-The stream you choose after 12th is irrelevant in determining your ranks in the Civil Service exams conducted by the UPSC for posts as such as the IAS.
-The only educational qualifications essential for appearing this exams is holding a degree of Graduation or equivalent, from a recognized university,in any subject.
-However,personally I would recommend you to go for the Arts subjects, such as INDIAN HISTORY,PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,GEOGRAPHY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE,as these are highly scoring and even form a core part in the Preliminary Exams.
Their Success Rate is quite high as compared to other subjects. The final call is yours.
    Good Luck.

YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY STREAM IN WHICH YOU ARE INTERESTED AFTER 12TH BUT THE SCIENCE WILL BE BETTER OPTION IF YOU CAN .

THERE ARE SO MANY RELAXATION IN I.A.S. FOR SCIENCE SUPPOSE IF YOU WILL SELECT ART STREAM THEN IN EXAM YOU HAVE CHOOSE HISTORY AS SELECTIVE OPTION THEN THERE IS NO LIMIT OF OUR

HISTORY BUT IN SCIENCE WE KNOW THE LIMIT OF QUESTIONARE IN OUR SELECTIVE SUBJECT . BECAUSE FOR THE I.A.S. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO GRADUATE FROM ANY STREAM .

AND YOU CAN BECOME AN COLLECTOR ONLY THROUGH I.A.S.

YOUR AGE SHOULD BE 21-30 FOR THIS AND THE EXAM WILL BE TAKEN BY U.P.S.C. INDIA
