    Dear Aspirant!

It doesn't matter in whatever stream you complete graduation because there is no such criteria for IAS.The Union Public Service Commission conducts the examination. The Eligibility details of the P.O posts are as follows:
    • Candidates must have completed graduation from any recognized university.
    • Minimum 21 years of age.
    • The maximum age allowed is 30 years.
    • Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
    • 5 years for SC/ST Candidates.

    • 10 years for physically handicapped candidates.

The above mentioned are the eligibility details of the I.A.S Exam.

    EXAM PATTERN
Coming to the exam pattern, there are 3 stages totally involved. They are:
    1.PRELIMINARY Examination.
    2.Main Examination.
    3.Interview.

Every round is a knockout round and candidates who are qualified in the preliminary exam are only eligible for the Main Examination. After the Main Examination there will be an Interview which is the final stage of the examination.

These are the details of the IAS Examination.
    THANK YOU.

    Hello Friend ,

It's not necessary that you have to select a particular course /subject to sit for an IAS exam , see friend , IAS exam covers all topics in exams , so taking any stream would be helpful for you . the most important that you have to be very focus while selecting a stream is your interest .

    > > Age must be above 21 years but not more than 30 years , if you belong to General category , however relaxation is given to SC/ST/OBC category .

Re: Which stream should I choose after 10th if I wish to become an IAS officer?

    Hi friend...

Dude there are no particular branches of study or stream of study are present for appearing to these civil services recruitment, candidates with any of the stream of study after graduation or the bachelor degree course of study can appear for these IAS recruitment's.

As you had completed 10th and had interest in physics stream of study then it is better to take up the physics and maths related branch of study and after 12th that is the intermediate then take up the bachelor of engineering/technology or any of the bachelor degree course of study in which you had interest up on.

First for appearing to these IAS civil services recruitment's one must have the basic eligibility and also tough preparation and after your 12th or from now on wards take up the coaching for the IAS examination as these are the toughest and longest recruitment procedures which are conducted for the recruitment of the civil services and as the competition is more from all over the India you need to prepare good so start your preparation right now by taking the initial coaching for examination.

The main recruitment procedure for the IAS that is civil services recruitment is of the
    Preliminary examination
    Main examination
    Interview
The Prelims examination is also known as the CSAT which is of the Civil Services Aptitude Test and this recruitment examination is conducted for the first round of selection and you need to qualify every round for appearing or being eligible to next rounds..

and these civil services recruitment's needs to be appeared only after graduation or bachelor degree in any stream of study...

    REGARDS:
