Dear, you should commerce to become CA. People suggest to take maths with commerce if you want to do CA. But maths has no role to play in future when you'l pursue CA. It's just that when you do maths you become calculative and your thinking and decision taking ability improves which you need in CA. So it's up to you which subject you want to choose.

    Hi..

It is good to find that you have fixed your aim in life now itself and aim to become a CA.

CA course is managed and conducted by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India).

CA course is divided in three parts:-

    1.CPT.

2.IPCC,which is further divided in two groups-

    Group 1 and

    Group 2.

    3.CA-Final.

You are eligible to give your CPT exam after your 12th exam.

CPT is conducted twice in a year.

    Its syllabus has 4 parts:-

    1.Quantitative Aptitude.

    2.Accountancy.

    3.General Economics.

    4.Merchantile Law.

The exam is conducted of 200 marks and in two sittings of 2 hrs. each.

So,you can appear after your 12th boards exam.

The syllabus of CPT matches with 11th and 12th commerce stream.

The subjects in commerce stream are:-

    1.Business Studies.

    2.Economics.

    3.Accountancy.

    4.English.

    5.Maths.

So,you should opt commerce stream in your 12th.

    Best of luck.

    Thanks..

Re: Which stream should I choose after 10th to become a Chartered Accountant?

You should choose the stream that interests you. For the CA course any candidate with 12th qualification can apply. The CA course is apt for those interested in the accountancy and taxation field. If the same interests you the best stream to opt for is the commerce stream. There are many similar subjects in both these courses. Other than this BBA is also an option. You can enroll for the CA course now but you will be eligible to appear the CPT exam after 12th standard.
